I.E. the AK design. I've seen this on multiple rifle/handgun designs. Why do they design them so the safety stops the gun from cycling?
May be a dumb question but I've been scratching my head trying to figure this out. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Designing it so it "doesn't" wasn't required of the designer.
