Turkey has sent shock waves through the Middle East by preparing plans to send troops into Syria for the first time, turning the civil war into an international conflict on Europe’s borders. ADVERTISING President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has authorised a change in the rules of engagement agreed by the Turkish parliament to allow the army to strike at Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil), as well as the Assad regime, according to local newspapers. The aim is to establish a buffer zone for refugees and against Isil, but Mr Erdogan has also suggested that the main target of the intervention, if it goes ahead, will be to prevent the emergence of a Kurdish state on Turkey’s doorstep. |

Is it from behind, and will Greece help?

The Kurds accuse Turkey of intentionally allowing through a major ISIS attack on Kobane a few days ago. They are in a pretty bad mood about it. If the Turks come marching into territory they're bleeding for, some serious shit is going down:

Islamic State fighters killed at least 146 people in its attack on the Syrian border town of Kobane in one of its largest massacres in the country, monitors said on Friday, with dozens more believed to have been kidnapped. Eyewitnesses to the massacre, which began with a suicide bombing near a border crossing with Turkey on Thursday morning, said civilians were targeted on the streets with rockets and sniper shots, or executed in their homes... In Hassakeh, the attack sparked the terrified exodus of 60,000 residents, according to the UN. In photographs posted online, a stream of families could be seen leaving Hassakeh on foot, clutching bags crammed with belongings. Hassakeh is divided into zones controlled by the government and the Kurdish authorities. View Quote |

Here's hoping for massive casualties. On both sides. Just not the Kurds..... No, not the Kurds, I meant on the Turkish side and those daesch ISIS prick sides. Turkish support for ISIS, Turkish invasion of Syria, and the ISIS (aka Saudi shock troops) progress in Syria and Iraq all fulfill our geo political objectives of regime change in Syria. |

So they are fighting to stop ISIL but they say this:

"This message came to me concerning Damascus:Look, Damascus will disappear! It will become a heap of ruins. The cities of Aroer will be deserted. Sheep will graze in the streets and lie down unafraid. There will be no one to chase them away. The fortified cities of Israel will also be destroyed, and the power of Damascus will end. The few left in Aram will share the fate of Israel's departed glory,' says the Lord Almighty" (Isaiah 17:1-3, NLT).

Weren't the Kurds pretty much left high and dry after WW1? They want a country of their own and Turkey isn't giving away land right now. |

Turkey saw Burkan al Furat advancing too much against IS lately and let them attack Kobane.
ultimately,IS is going to turn on him and he will start screaming "Article 5!!!!!!!" at the top of his neo-Pasha lungs. NATO needs to boot Turkey before they make this happen. They wanted in bed with the SOBs,let em wake up next to them. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I know it's popular here to cheer on the Kurds, because let's face it: in Iraq and Syria they are the good guys, but to the Turks... They are a combination of illegal aliens and the free shit army. They take advantage of the Turks' system and constantly play the game of "we're victims so you have to let us do what we want."
The Turks want them out like we want the illegals out. That said, we should have let Turkey "handle" this entire region a long time ago. Their president is basically an Obama so it might not have happened, but their military leadership is good people who have an interest in keeping shit calm around them. |

BUT.....will Wally make a Turkey cake with Greece on it?
That is the overwhelming question! |

View Quote What the fuck are you talking about? Illegal immigrants is the opposite of how the Turkish state views Kurds. They claim the Kurds don't fucking exist, they say that there is no such thing as the Kurdish people, that they are "mountain Turks", the Kurds are today in their historic homelands, which they have occupied since forever. Turkey has committed genocide against the Kurds, banned their language and political organizations for years, and tried to erase them as a people. Let Turkey handle the region? The Turkish military and intelligence services sympathize with and support daesh. |
