BEFORE EVERYONE FREAKS THE FUCK OUT.... READ THIS

The Kansas and Arizona laws stand, meaning that people wishing to register to vote with state forms are required to show proof of citizenship. Kobach said more than 99 percent of Kansans use the state forms. "But because of the Supreme Court decision not to review the case,” he added, "we do have a small limited loophole.” The slim majority that uses the federal form can "refuse to provide proof of citizenship,” he said, "but that will only suffice for federal elections.”

eta:

Both Kansas and Arizona have state laws that require applicants to prove their citizenship when applying to vote with state forms (for state or federal elections). But the U.S. EAC denied the states’ requests to have their citizenship laws applied when would-be voters use the standardized federal form.

What case?

Simple solution. The states run their state and local elections in accordance with state law and on state property, but when it comes to electing federal officials hand the keys over to the feds and let them hold their elections on federal property. That will solve the solution pretty quickly unless I'm missing something here.

How often are elections of any consequence held where a federal office isn't on the ballot? They can deny illegal aliens the right to vote on bond proposals or local referendums but they can't require proof of citizenship when voting for Congress or the President?

Why am I not comforted by this?

If the thread title is so poorly worded as this one, its not a dupe.  You little dupe police need to show some intelligence.

Still means they don't have to provide proof before registering. Illegals can still vote for president with this decision.

What it means is that  state law can't be used to change the federal forms.

They are also waiting on a ruing from the 11th circuit before they see the case. There was no Circuit Split ruling so there was no reason to hear the case. Be paitent. It will go before SCOTUS, just not right now.

Interestingly, Arizona has never asked me to prove I'm a citizen and I vote.
