I think the reverse is true...kinda.
I had a mini-14 once and the only mag that would supposedly work in either was by Ram-Line. Ruger mags, factory or aftermarket will not work in the AR unles they have the mag catch cut out on left side of mag body. Mini-14 aftermarket mags are crap in my opinion. This beign so I would not want one in my AR. Get some Thermolds or some good USGI instead. Enjoy the AR. |

You are mistaken. There are some mags that supposedly made to work in both rifles, but usually they work poorly in both.
