I hate to break the news to you but Jesus is Jewish.
You know - short in stature, dark brown curly hair, dark complexion, etc.
OH - he did not have an English accent like all the movies portray.

Of course the real Jesus lives, too.

Quite Funny, in a condecending sort of way.

Isn't it odd:  Jesus was Jewish, yet the Jews don't believe in Jesus as the Savior, but rather as a prophet.  So technically Jews go to Hell.  "Jesus' People go to Hell", that just sounds wrong.  This supposed to be one of God's little jokes on man?

If so, I'm glad I'm not one.

Just to clarify, the Jews said "let his blood be on our children and their children" when he was crucified.

Ironic they suffered the way they did at the hands of the Germans, wouldn't you think?

I'm not so sure hell is a place I want to joke about going to either. Pick up a bible and read the last chapter. Sound like a place you want to spend eternity?

The saying is true, Christians aren't purfect just forgiven. I can speak from experience that it feels good to be forgiven and know I'm on my way to heaven. Being a christian doesn't get me there either....having Christ in my heart does!

Please be a little more responsible with your posts. I wouldn't want to be responsible for pursuading someone to choose the wrong road.

To all you christians, putting bible quotes and proseletyzing(sp?) in threads, THAT is "very offensive" to others of us too, so get over it. The world is a mean place, if the change in arrangement of phosphor dots on your monitor can offend you, you've got a real surprise in store when you get up outta that chair and walk out into the real-non-cyber world. What happened here at AR15.com?

I go away for a short year, I come back and we have supposed freedom loving gun owners touting mandatory military service, applauding the supreme court decision to allow police to arrest people for minor violations, and now be have the winner:

Somebody says that Jews deserved to suffer in the holocaust because they killed Jesus.

I can't do anything about the socialists and fascists who want to darft everyone into the army and form a police state, but can't you Christians read your own bible for the love of God?   And read all of it, not just one passage.

Jesus Christ!

"You Christians," eh?? can I then assume you are NOT one???

Consider the following chinese mind puzzle...

Its always fun to watch non-Christians bash Christians for their "un-Christian" activities.

Tell me - how would a non-Christian know that a Christian is being un-Christian??

Doesn't  a non- Christian CHOOSE TO BE a non-Christian because they reject Christian ideals?? So, if they reject these ideals, how can they criticise someone else for not holding to ideals that they themselves consider to be foolish??

Seems to me, that since the non-Christians reject these foolish Christian ideals, they would applaud Christians for NOT following them, just as the non-Christians don't follow them.

rather than applauding Christians for "seeing the light" as the non-Christians do and throwing off these silly Christian principles, they instead sieze the opportunity to call them hypocritical.

is any of this making sense?? Oh well - that's what I get for thinking out loud.

BTW blue207, Christ was a direct line descendant of king David. "Ruddy cheeks" indicates the color from blood under the skin, which gives it's "ruddy" color. This characteristic is more predominate in light skinned people, namely white. No, I'm not a racist

Garandman,

That's very typical of you.  To Christians, the world is made up of two kinds of people, Christians, and non-Christians.

But, to answer your question, no, it is not hipocritical.  While I may reject Christianity because, well, it's a little silly in this day and age to believe in mythology, that doesn't mean that Jesus wasn't credited with saying some very nice things.  Such as:  Love thy neighbor, forgive people, turn the other cheek, that sort of thing.

He did not say: Though shoulds gloat over the death and suffering of millions of people whose only supposed crime was that their ancestors turned me in to the Romans.

He was a nice guy and people liked him, remember?

Jesus wept for Israel, the chosen people.  It was only the religious leaders who conspired to have him killed.  Your comments just as inappropriate on this board as are those of RealOaf's link to a site mocking a religion.  If this board is about AR-15's then it is appropriate to question RealOaf's submitting of a hateful link.

But YES, the world IS made up of two types of people - people that ahve accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour, and those that haven't. I don't see that as illogical, or inflammatory. Merely a statement of fact.

Garandman, you're too smart for some of us. Bill, He knew from birth and could have saved Himself any time he wanted.  He left us the Keys to the Kindom, died for Jews and Gentiles, that sins would be forgiven.  No mythology here, that's why there are so many seperate accounts in the New Testament.  To dispel any doubts.

I wonder why so many people ridicule Jesus in song/art/film/literature and it`s ok with many. If you said the same things about any other major religon you would be a target by millions.

1.  Okay, so it can also be said that there are two kinds of people in the world, those who love Allah, and those who do not.   Substitute just about any word for Allah, and you can say the same thing.  It means nothing.

2.  Bhudda was a man who reached enlightenment, and never claimed to be anything other than a man.  Confucious was a philosopher, and Muhammed was a 'prophet'.  Physically rising from the dead, supposedly, is not a part of any of these religions.  So who cares who'se grave is empty?  What does that prove except the obvious, that you are willing to accept hokey evidence, or none at all, as a basis for your entire life's beliefs.   Hey...if it works for you, go with it.  It's when you start saying things like "thou doest not loveth Christ and therefore thou shalst burn in hell and therefore thine life has no meaning and thou shalts be killed and blah blah blah blah" that you step past the "line" and need to be shown the way back.

3.  Go ahead and mock me, after all, I'm not a Christian, so I must be the devil and an evil doer, and a fat b*stard, and all that stuff.  Jesus would be really proud of you right now.  At least I stick to what I believe in faithfully.

this is just ONE man's opinion, but...

I believe it is because people (me included from time to time) down deep know the truth of Jesus message, but DON'T like the impact that Jesus' truth DEMANDS on their lives.

The easiest way to free themselves from that demand is to belittle / mock / ridicule Him and His truth.

Its a part of human nature that ONLY God can free us from.

Bill -

Maybe you know it - maybe you don't. what you said above about "burning in hell" is true, but ONLY a partial truth.

Jesus / Christianity provides a means to escape that judgment. CHristianity tells you of impending judgment, but provides a way to escape it.

For my money, I'm pissed at all teh religions that don't tell their followers of the coming judgment, but lets 'em go thru life fat, deluded, and happy.

I'm not mocking you Bill. think of it this way - What do I have to gain by telling you about about the coming judgment of sin? Nothing but your anger at me. What do you have to gain by hearing what I'm telling you?? Eternal life.

I'd say that's a pretty good deal for you.

B.Wallace....Jesus was either who he said he was (God) or the worlds biggest liar and deserved to be executed under Jewish law...he was not merely a "nice guy" he was either The Christ (saviour) or crazy...however thousands of wittnesses many who went to their deaths and watched as the Romans fed their children to wild animals in the arena... refused to deny what they had seen with their own eyes...mainly his many many miracles including raising their loved ones from the dead Lazarus who carcass was so rotten it stunk (his sisters words)...Myth? we are talking thousands of eye witnesses who were killed rather than deny him...what man would die for a myth?...or a liar...or a crazy man...it gets better..if his disciples were going to make up his resurection they would have hardly had him appear first to women who were not only not regarded as full citizens but their testimony was not allowed in the courts of his day...(in other words womens tesitmony was inadmissable) not to mention the roman guards...the special forces /navy seals of the era..a special cohort was selected for guarding the tomb four soldiers hand picked arround the clock..the myth is that the disciples (who by the way were scared out of their wits at Jesus sentancing and crucifiction and history records that "the fled scattered in fear"..now these fisherman snuck back in the middle of the night and rolled away a stone that weighed 800 lbs and was "fitted" into a slot..and did so while the roman guards were asleep and they didnt wake up??? do you know what the penalty for sleeping on guard was in the legion?...the centurian would walk up to the sleeping soldier grab him by the head and plunge his gladius down through the solar plexus into the heart..no questions asked...no quarter given...anothe myth is that Jesus himself woke up in the cold of the tomb and rolled the stone away blah blah blah...crucified, speared etc while the guards slept...Jesus appeard after his resurection to over hundreds of his followers and ascended into heaven while they watched...they were anointed by the holy spirit and began to speak in foriengn tongues you may choose to ignor the facts...but these are not myths nor lies...who would die for a lie....and many of his followers are put to death every day...rather than give him up..who could do such a thing...fanatics...do not have peace that only the Holy Spirit can give..or the surety of the resurection to come...and have no fear of the judgement ...the kind of fear that causes men to joke nervously about what awaits them....jewbroni ...the only people who face the judgement are those who refuse to call Jesus Lord and who willing surrender themselves to His loving mercy and accept the condemnation of their sins and ask for His forgiveness ...the bible says that ALL who call upon the name of the Lord Jesus will be saved (ALL) & that he is merciful and quick to forgive...Jesus also stated that "those who obey God" are his brothers and sisters..and not his racial (carnal) heritage, but his spiritual heritage...

I'm just going to say this once, so the topic will die...

EVERYBODY just SHUT THE HELL UP.

Pagan Non-Christians --> Yes, I know lots of people like to throw in scripture to get their point across, sometimes its the only way they know how to argue a point, so just let them be.

Christians --> As I said before, don't give this post any more time of day than you obviously had, and let the post die.  Ignore it, and it will fade away

Non-Christians --> Sorry you had to put up with the giant AR15.com religious confrontation here, most of you have "significants" in your faith such as Muhammed and Confucious, and understand the difference between men and deities.  You are at ease and may continue to scour the rest of our wonderful site like I am about to do.

Jews --> Um, I dunno go spin a dradle or something

If you want to speak religion and metaphysics, and care to bash each other in the process, please go somewhere else.  The post probably shouldn't have been here in the first place, but by kindling the flame that it created some people caused more harm than good from it.

Back to guns, girls, and liberal bashing topics,

Exactly what bashing and religious confrontation are you refering to?
Take your own advice."Get over it folks, ignore it and move on".

I'm wondering if all this talk about Jesus is offensive to some of you.

It seems to me that a Christian saying that you must believe on Christ to go to heaven is way more offensive than this Jesus mocking website should be to me. It doesn't bother me I just click on that little x in the top right hand corner.

I would make a complete fool of myself(like I am now)to share about what Jesus has done for me. If by chance it would save any of you from God's judgement. You probably don't want to hear it, but oh well. Religious freedom baby....I guess I only have a few more years left of it so I may as well enjoy it.

Now for my sermonette.  It amazes me how often Jesus is credited (or blamed) with being the inspiration for monumental evil.  The old 'how many people have been killed in the name of religion' routine, when we know very well the  only 'religion' being talked about is Chistianity.

So simply put, the question becomes - What is to be found in the nature of the individual described in the Gospels and known in history as Jesus Christ, or Jesus of Nazareth, or simply as Jesus, that can be condemned?

Was He full of hatred toward men? After all He was hated without a cause by many?

Was He a racist?  After all He spoke and had dealings with Samaritans, Greeks, Romans, and all other Gentiles, just as He had with his fellow Jews.

Was He an intolerant person? After all He spoke and had dealings with common prostitutes, tax collectors, lepers, and with those outcasts from society with whom no one else would bother.

Was He a violent person? After all He gave us so many sayings, never thought of by man before, that spoke of returning good for evil, that spoke of kindness, brotherhood, companionship, and self-denial for the good of others.

Was He a revengeful person? After all He asked the Father to forgive them for they knew not what they did.

So, when you look simply at the character of the historical Jesus, what in that character suggests that a great crusade to free Jerusalem and the Holy Land was something He desired?

What was in His character that suggests that He wanted to see 'heretics' burned at any stake?

What did you find in His character that suggested that He wanted you to kill others who didn't think the same way you did? or He did?

If you answered 'nothing' to the foregoing, then you, Sir, are correct!!

If you want to find the true authors of death and desolation in this World, the true designers of an Apocalypse, then you need look no further than Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler, and Mao Tse Tung.  How many do you estimate they killed in the 20th Century? Maybe 100,000,000??

And they were all atheists!!!

Rocket, I love people like you:

1.) You're foolish to not see the said "religious confrontation" in this topic.
2.) When a cop comes out at a crowded murder seen and shouts "Please go home, nothing to see here", you don't reply "You're not making it any better officer by being here".  I.E., just because one (myself) stands up and tells people to drop something, doesn't mean I'm trying to add to the fire.  That is also foolish.
3.) {Quoted}: I just click that little X in top right hand corner {end-quote}  Congratulations, you did exactly what I told everybody else to do, and have been trying to make everybody comprehend.  Again, you're fueling the flames and it's not helping, which is, again, foolish.

We (well, not I) are not more offended by what is going on in the site than the original post itself.  As I have clearly said, the post should never have gotten here (which is also why I'm going to attempt to talk to some of the moderators and ask if I can become one myself, b/c we desperately need more).

As for you finding Christ, I'm happy for you.  This is not a bash, I'm truly happy for your decision.  And I'm also not saying that you're an ignorant person for trying to share your beliefs, because that IS what God wants you to do.  I am simply saying that there is a time, and in this case a PLACE, for everything.  I hope you understand, no offense hopefully taken.  Don't blame the trashman for junk on the your neighborhood streets, he's only trying to help clean it up.  Now please, lock and/or delete this post.

I just want to add my 2 cents. People can post whatever they want(pertaining to the rules of the board). I don't like anything that makes fun of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. But if I am going to have the right to tell you the truth about JESUS then the door of freedom swings both ways.

First of all Jesus is 100% man and God at the same time!!!
He died for everyone on this earth to have the oppertunity to be saved!!!
The jews nor the romans crusified Jesus. It was the sin of the past and present generations that crusified him.
If you don't accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior you will go to hell!!
Jesus has a special plan for the jews and we are not to worry what God is going to do. It is not our job.
There is only one true God and he is the God of the Jews and his name is Jesus.
He loves evryone of us and wants to know us and us to seek him.
The reason the world is like this is because people have rejected Jesus.

There is no one on this earth that has to believe this. Everyone has their free will. You can believe in anything you want. These are not my words this is what the bible states. I am 100% Christian and Love Jesus. Do what you want with the info. If you guys were smart you would read the bible to see if I am telling you the truth!!!

I earned my freedom of speech the hard way...Its my right ...funny how its ok and political correct to bash Christ and those who follow him (imperfectly of course)
and funny how those same comedians are offended at the things of Christendom
yet have no qualms offending Christians and expect them to be quiet good little Christinans and then have the gall to take offense when Christians even discuss back the fallacy of the non Christians arguements..the hypocricy is among the haters of Christ who feel free to bash Christians yet scream about their rights being abused if Christians demand equal time....the very time they fought for....

Why do I find all of your religious banter very, very disturbing?

I dunno, but I do.   I wasn't raised to reject Christianity.   But every now and then something happened that made me go "whoah...that's not right".

It all sounds good and fine, but there is something about it...something sinister.  God has a special plan for the jews...if you don't love jesus you will go to hell...  makes me shiver.

Fortunately, I'm not the only one.  Religion is on it's way out. Every generation sees less and less people that give a damn. Thank God!  No pun intended.  (notice the world is becomming a better place to live, too)

I don't know what all the fuss is about. I read the Bible and really enjoyed it- some of the best fiction ever written!

Seriously, there is no way to prove or disprove what Jesus did or didn't do.  Everyone is entitled to believe or disbelieve whatever they like, you're just NOT entitled to try and force others to see things your way.  There has been plenty of self-righteous bigotry, hatred, and murder in the name of almost all religions.  If you don't think the link was funny, don't go there again.  You can't expect everyone to kowtow to your particular religious preferences.

And I must add, the self-righteousness of some of these posts is quite nauseating.  Some of you folks have a whole jar of pickles up your a$$.  The Bible was written by MEN, and has been edited by MEN time and time again to suit their own purposes.  If you think it's the whole unexpurgated, unedited truth written by pure people without any agenda of their own, you're a child.  The various Christian factions can't even agree on which of their Bibles is 'the truth'.  If you find a belief system that helps you get through the day, great, but you don't have to be a pompous a$$ about it.  Rant mode off.

Right on Bill Wallace!  I live by one hard rule: Treat others the way you want to be treated.  And I don't follow this rule because it was written down a long time ago by a significant figure, or because I'm afraid that if I don't I'll spend eternity in torture.  I follow it because it is the only way I can be happy.
As far as everyone else on this board?  I don't care what you do or believe....it is none of my business until you hurt soomeone else.

Now shouldn't we take this somewhere else?  What a hypocrite I am for giving my .02 and then suggesting we drop it! [;)]

I too live by that rule...that which is hateful to you do not do unto others.  I don't know why, I just do.  I don't want to cause suffering, to anything or anyone.

But because I do not "love the lord", I am going to hell.  Okay, well in that case, hell must not be such a bad place.  "Oh no, hell is a horrible place, full of suffering.  Don't go there...come here instead!  But we'll only let you in if you swear fealty to the Lord!  What?  You did all that good in your life?  Who cares!  If you don't love the lord, you can't come up here.  You there, murderer and rapist, what's that you say?  You love the lord?  Great!  Come on up!"

I'm not Jewish, but I respect the Jews.  Why?  Because while they believe they are the chosen people of God, they do not believe that non-Jews will not go to heaven.  In fact, they believe it is easier for a non-jew to get into the heaven because they don't have to live by the strict rules the jews do.  And you know the best part?  Hell in Judaism is a state in which you realize you are wrong, which according to my jewish friends lasts all but one year.

I don't believe any of it, of course, but here are a people with strict religious beliefs who do not believe the souls of all those who do not think as they do are lost.

Have you ever met a Jewish missionary?
I HATE people who think everyone in the world should believe as they do.
