Back in the service, I slung up a VN Jungle hammock in the torpedo room. Best rack on the boat in my opinion.

OP, no rain fly on these?

ETA: saw down a little further Another $20 (ouch)

For that price:    Get one of these

Or get a one piece unit for a better price that is a mere 16 oz more? (Technically 3/4 lb with the fly)

I guess if you are doing long serious packing then lighter and maybe more compact (?) is the way to go

These are solid - I've been using one for a year or two.  It's the equal of my Eno hammock.  $25 is a great deal.

I'm tempted. Got a backpacker coming up in a month with kids from the church.

We were going to build shelters but this would be much be easier.

Are these light enough that I'm going to want to stick them in backpacks?  What do they weigh, any idea?

19oz for the single with the netting, so yes. But a full hammock sleep system with insulation and rainfly can get as heavy, or heavier than a single BP tent and air mattress.

Why post this here?  This disqualifies 98% of GD.  Or is the attraction that the netting is supposed to stop bugs from getting to your neckbeard?

Also, does it come with long enough ties to tie between basement support posts?

Say the avg male weighs 180lbs, your SO would have to weigh 95lbs to be at the weight capacity. Wtf.

I beg to differ, the king of hammocks is easily the Warbonnet Outdoors Blackbird double 1.7mm - all of the features of the hennessey hammock, plus a bunch more.

I've owned both, the blackbird shits all over Hennessey Hammocks.

I would personally buy the basic hammock and rainfly, if I wanted a bugnet hammock, I would look to Hennessey or Warbonnet - these ones are going to be much more annoying to pitch, with the raised net section, vs the integrated ridgeline of the competetors requiring zero additional rigging.

Those look perfect ...

unforutnalty woot just fucked me. I tried to buy 4 of them for prizes for employees and signed in on my Amazon account but wanted to put on a company credit card ... Went to order and they didn't give the option of changing payment method.

Pushed it straight through my personal account...

Wtf?

What online retailer doesn't give you chance to change payment method before charging??

not sure what happened to your order. I changed my payment method before placing my order. I am a prime member though, but that shouldn't matter.

I re- signed in and started from scratch and had to go update all my payment info to the commercial Amex.

Not sure why it skipped that step the first time. I did send customer service and email about it though.

That's the weird part... It just pushed it through with no options to change.

I got it fixed but not sure why it did that.

Snagged another one thanks. I was waiting for these to come back and I really like these little hammocks for the $.

Pro tip: use a sleeping pad under you to keep the mosquitoes from biting your back through the hammock while you sleep .

I am 5'11 and 230 and while its tight I have slept in one of these.
