I bought one of these with the rain fly a year ago from woot. Still haven't used it

There are certain things you don't buy at a mystery discount.
Anything that holds you in the air is a primary category. Hammock tents, sex swings, bungee cords, parachutes... Always buy once, cry once. |

hammocks look like back pain View Quote Back in the service, I slung up a VN Jungle hammock in the torpedo room. Best rack on the boat in my opinion. OP, no rain fly on these? ETA: saw down a little further Another $20 (ouch) For that price: Get one of these |

(Technically 3/4 lb with the fly) I guess if you are doing long serious packing then lighter and maybe more compact (?) is the way to go |

I'm tempted. Got a backpacker coming up in a month with kids from the church.
We were going to build shelters but this would be much be easier. Are these light enough that I'm going to want to stick them in backpacks? What do they weigh, any idea? |
|
Thats cool
For places that have trees Not so much out here in west Texas! |

But a full hammock sleep system with insulation and rainfly can get as heavy, or heavier than a single BP tent and air mattress. |

Thanks man!
This website has cost be about $250 bucks this week.. |

I bought one last time to find out it is too small for me . Made a great Christmas present.

275 pound weight capacity View Quote Why post this here? This disqualifies 98% of GD. Or is the attraction that the netting is supposed to stop bugs from getting to your neckbeard? Also, does it come with long enough ties to tie between basement support posts? |

I too got 2 of the olive. Thanks for the heads up - I've got a week long trip coming up soon and I'll take this along to test out.

I've owned both, the blackbird shits all over Hennessey Hammocks. I would personally buy the basic hammock and rainfly, if I wanted a bugnet hammock, I would look to Hennessey or Warbonnet - these ones are going to be much more annoying to pitch, with the raised net section, vs the integrated ridgeline of the competetors requiring zero additional rigging. |

Looks like something for the Everglades. Plenty of trees but no dry spots. Kayak out into the glades, string it up, sleep, and keep kayaking.

Those look perfect ...
unforutnalty woot just fucked me. I tried to buy 4 of them for prizes for employees and signed in on my Amazon account but wanted to put on a company credit card ... Went to order and they didn't give the option of changing payment method. Pushed it straight through my personal account... Wtf? What online retailer doesn't give you chance to change payment method before charging?? |

I'm 200 lbs and tend to be skeptical of weight ratings on things like this. Anyone have any experience with these particular ones?
|

Thanks, going straight into my go-bag.
For those not sure about quality check them on Amazon, they have great user ratings. |

Funny enough the office talk has been centered around camping and hammocks lately, just ordered two. Thanks!
