The gun was scheduled to be destroyed by the ATF, but Sullivan argued with the ATF against its destruction, saying it could one day be housed in a museum. He and Templeton successfully convinced the ATF that it would be kept in storage away from the public.

It remained with the sheriff’s department since it was confiscated in1981. Sullivan passed away in 1990.

Doesn't sound like he did any papers on it but at least it's ina museum and the story lives in with it.
