Damn sure wasn't good for much else.

ETA: after reviewing the video, with exceptions, the music pretty much sucked too.

The year I graduated high school. Prospects looked grim, hello Uncle, can you use another 11b?

I remember the all these songs. Great time to be around. Oh, yes, and there was every 16-25 year old girl wearing tank tops without a bra... Oh yes... I loved me some 1978.

IMO the best album of 1978 - hands down. Inspired two generations worth of Musicians.

I was listening to the radio then, and I have no recollection of some of those.

Got sent home from school for wearing my Disco Sucks t-shirt that year.  Still hate at least half of the songs in that top fifty.

Meh

7/10

It's missing profound heavy metal/hard rock numbers like Never Say Die, Sin City or anything off Weekend Warriors.

Modern rock guitar changed forever in an instant. Everybody was dicking around with variations of the pentatonic minor scale, and a few open chords and bar chords. What Eddie was doing was light years . . . . light years beyond anyone else.

There were lots of great guitarists: Steve Lukather, Neal Schon, Buck Dharma, but they were all adhering to a "rules for rock guitar".

You can always find something good, before 1985 or so.

It was a pretty good year for music, less the disco.  What was good about it at that point of my life was there was music I was discovering from the past as well as thinking there was years of good music ahead of us.  I think reality started setting in with Keith Moon and John Bonham's deaths, realizing there would be an end to things.
