Moral cavity, drilled and filled ten years ago.
Somebody fried the bacon too hard. Big crunch. Bad day. |
|
If I could do it right now, fuck yeah, bring the vise grips. But since I have to wait until tomorrow to call the man with the drills, we'll see what he says. he told me a few months ago that the filling was going to blow. I should have taken the tinfoil out of my hat and just gotten it done.

I have a molar that is problematic. I cannot afford to go to a dentist and after surfing the topic I am about to pull the tooth myself.
|
|
I had a root canal when I was 10 or so. Really wasnt that bad, worst part was the shots of anesthetic straight into the gums.
|
|
|
If it's that bad, I'd just have it pulled.
Root canals can lead to some bad unintended consequences... |
|
get a glass of hot water and swish it around for about 30 seconds then chase that down with ice cold cool-aid ///// replete tell I can have dibs on ammo

take a hammer to one of you're big toes. hit it hard enough to lose the nails. that should ease the tooth pain a while

Been there.... The resulting abscess and pain are certainly no fun. If the abscess bursts in your mouth, try not to swallow. Edit: Put cold water in your mouth around the tooth. It will bring you temporary relief. Yes... I'm serious. It works. |

I'm hoping my two top wisdom teeth are pointed straight down like my bottom ones are pointed straight up. I can't tell and if they aren't then I'll have to get them pulled to prevent impaction. (The dentist will sedate me or I will not do it)

This was a referral too, high end Oral Surgeon practice, went to the G/f's regular dentist, he took one look at the abscess bulging out of the inside of my gum, said Whoa...... this is beyond what I'm comfortable with, and made the call, they took me right in, numbed the crap out of me, popped the abscess, drained it, flushed it, and yanked the tooth....took Maybe 30 minutes from walking in. ..Hell, it took me longer to fill out the paperwork. A simple extraction shouldn't be more than a couple of hundred dollars, at least that's the going rate where I am. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Do what I do.... no shots, my dentist learned no Novocaine, just do it

I had to have one yanked a couple months ago..$178...took about 20 mins for the numbing shots to dull it enough and then it was yankaroo! Small down hack dentist but it's good enough for an upper you can't even see anyway!

I have 2 appointments for root canals, back upper left, back lower left.
I've put it off for 6 years on the lower left molar. It finally cracked and a piece came off. Luckily, it's still salvageable, but I should not have waited. I'm a huge dentophobe. |
|
If your paying more than $150 for an extraction or $600 for a root canal you're getting ripped off.
Always offer to pay cash and you can generally pay a lot less. If you have any affordable dentures locations near you extractions are only $95....They pull teeth all day so they know what they're doing. |

I've got a giant back molar where I had a root canal 6 months ago. I put off getting the crown due to insurance issues. Now the frickin' molar is cracked. God damn it. Hoping to save this tooth....appointment next week. This dental shit is costing me a fortune......but I'm an old fuck and still have all of my teeth. One thing I've learned about dental stuff is this: If you have a problem, don't wait. It will get worse so just TCB right away.

I paid $6,000 out of pocket to fix 2 teeth (2 root canals and 2 crowns) that another Dentist fucked up filling cavities. I would have paid $10,000 to make that pain go away and thought it a good deal. There is no pain like infected tooth pain. Kindney stone pain at least ebbs, infected tooth is full on no relent. |

I had a tooth that was giving me problems. I was really tempted to pull it then and there. My dentist put a crown on it. About two years later I had to have the crown popped off, stuff cleaned out, and the crown put back on it. Then, a year after that, I had to get a root canal on the tooth, which meant I had to get the crown re-done. Now this year it's still giving me issues. The dentist said the surgeon probably missed some root. Now my option is to pull it.

NO Most offices will offer a discount for paying cash up front. That doesn't necessarily mean your total out of pocket cost will be less than with insurance. That said, a lot of (not all) offices that participate heavily with insurance find ways to cut costs. There is often a big difference between "acceptable" and "ideal." Affordable dentures is a corporate-owned-chain. Some are OK. Some are not. Just like any other dental office, but a privately owned dental office doesn't have shareholders to answer to. I am fairly phobic about going to the dentist, and built up a pretty good list of problems. Dental issues suck! I decided it was time to get it all done and went to Costa Rica in March, actually had a pretty good time in addition to seeing the dentist. Kinda scary thinking about having work done in a different country, but after a lot of research I was comfortable with it. Everything turned out great and I basically got a free vacation.

I had pain in a molar and dentist tried to crown it over two visits. Crown caused more pain so he sent me to the endodontist. Endodontist said the tooth was cracked and he could do root canal but it would never be right and I'd be better off to have it pulled. Went to the oral surgeon and he said, "Bad day at the endodontist?". He pulled the molar and I'm pain free! Talk a bout a bad day though, visiting the dentist, endodontist, and oral surgeon all in one day.
Have you seen an endodontist and did they mention a crack? |

I had two root canal teeth go bad after about 20 years. Replaced them with implants. The implants work well but they are not cheap (and are not covered by insurance).

I got a 3 root molar pulled this morning. Yes it hurt but in a day or two it will be better than the abscessed/broken tooth.

Looking forward to the dentist rubbing his junk on you? I'm willing to pay him $1000 out of pocket if he'll do it right fucking now. In my area, an oral surgeon will do them for about $1100. then you have to get the tooth covered with a crown for another $850ish or so. That assumes that the tooth wasn't part of a bridge, then you are looking at $1600-2400 for the crown. BTDT. Don't yank the tooth unless you absolutely sure you can make it thru life without being able to chew on that side... Dental implants are more expensive than fixing the problem you have. |
