Inb4 the let's bitch about electric cars crew.

Car is faster and better looking than the majority will ever drive unless this technology continues to develop and becomes more accessible  (cheaper).

How many thousands of pounds of ammo and mags can I haul to FedEx or from a distributor in it? Not 1/10 as my truck, don't give a fuck about the rest.

And electric cars are aids.

I was fortunate to have access to one for about 4 months a year ago. Amazing car. I'm not a car guy or generally an EV car guy but this got me all excited about them.

A couple cool things about the Model S...

1. They use regenerative braking, which means that lifting your foot off the power causes the car to slow down dramatically. It's like putting on the brakes. This action temporarily recharges the battery as you decelerate. In fact, except for a couple occasions, I could drive the car in the city without having to use brakes except for the final 7mph or so at a complete stop. Takes some getting used to but you quickly learn to prefer it. Be careful getting back into your dinosaur-burner though.

2. The car is FAST and acceleration is linear. The push-in-your-seat acceleration is exactly the same from 70-90mph as it is from 0-20mph. Amazing and way more fun than any other cars (and because of my work I've gotten to drive some nice exotics).

3. Even aside from the obvious, it's one of the most technically advanced cars out there. The interior has a massive 15" (at least) touchscreen in the dash. There is a Tesla app that allows you to see everything about the car. I know there are others that do that but Tesla made it more cool.

4. Got to drive it from Las Vegas to SoCal and it did bring home the fact that this is not a car for everywhere. Unless you live near a Supercharger you'll be limited.

5. I want one!!!

The P85 means it has 420 hp and 443 ft lbs of torque

If it's an AWD P85D, it has 691 hp and 687 ft lbs of torque

At 250 miles per charge, that's a lot of charging stops to get to 20k miles.  When we were in FL for the niece's wedding, one of her cousins had driven down from Albany, NY in his Tesla.  Four hour charging stops every 250 miles had to make that one helluva long trip.
