It was mentioned in another thread that a lot of tea party websites are full of viruses and crappy ads that make ghostery go insane. There are also a lot of financial scams springing from the right. Why is that? Is it the same with the left, but I just don't see it?

Noticed this too. When you visit some of these smaller, blogs and news sites. The infowar type sites are even worst.

Plus there are all sorts of scam PACs out there, like the 'Draft Ben Carson' PAC, which had no affiliation with Ben Carson.

The left / progressive-liberals uses the NSA to spy and the IRS to scam and take the money.

They are scammers just like everything else on the internet.  There are a lot of assholes out there that pose as tea party bloggers, tea party supporters, Conservatives, 2nd Amendment supports, Ant-Amnesty groups, etc.  The list goes on.

What they are actually doing is collecting e-mail addresses and other personal information that they sell.  They also sell hats, t-shirts, bumper stickers, etc...  They take donations to help travel to protests and other events (and pocket most or even all of the money).  I'm not familiar with all the laws but there is some kind of advantage to getting many $5, $20, $50 and all the way up to somewhere around $200 donations as opposed to larger amounts.

These people do this with liberal websites, tin foil hat websites and everything in between as well.  They are not just limited to right wing websites (although my understanding is the right wingers are more willing to donate their money to what they perceive as a good cause)

Go to TheBlaze.   It's worse than a russian porn site for pop ups, pop unders, trackers, etc...
Glenn is always going on about privacy and the govmint is spying on all of us through our iPhones so it's amusing that his site is so full of ad trackers.

This.

This.   It is an intentional act to destroy the others intellectual property.

ghostery is not a virus program and just because is activates does not mean there are viruses there. and of course it  IS their site (whatever sites you are talking about) and they have the right to use tracking cookies.

there is a tracker here on arfcom... and tons of ads as well although I don't see them (blocked )

so I don't see a problem looks like you have it under control.

Old people with a looooot of money.

I found similar with searching for obscure Civil War artillery.  A hit would come up on a Jinkywalski Breach Loading Mk1 with google, click on the page, and my virus stuff would go ape shit.
