I haven't had any experiences that went that poorly with Optics Planet or DVOR. I did experience slow shipping with my last DVOR order but that was because I went with the free shipping and they used the Fedex smart post option.
I have gotten several really good deals from them though. Vortex Viper HS 6-24X for $416 delivered. Burris MTAC 1.5-6x for $340 delivered. Trijicon/Bobro 34mm QD mount for ~$145 delivered. |

seems like recently, a good bit of items on DVOR aren't actually in stock.

When I first started seeing DVOR ads, it just looked sketch to me so I never tried them out.

Good to see that Optics Planet has chimed in (see above), and looks to be working on fixing the problem.
I'm about prepared to make a purchase, and Optics Planet is one of the retailers I've price checked. This is a tag, I'll watch this thread to see if others have had similar problems or if this is an isolated incident |

I used to have great experiences with OP. Now days it's seems they hardly ever price match and there ship time is terrible. I just recieved some Warne rings this week that I ordered forever ago. I didn't even get an email when they shipped. Supposedly they were in stock when I ordered. I'm looking elsewhere for my optics next time.

I ordered a nitecore light last year and it showed up relatively quickly. The battery however took months and finally i decided to cancel the order after waiting for about 4 months .

I've had nothing but good experiences with Optics Planet. Dvor got me roped into a timed deal thing around Christmas that took advantage of my flashlight impulse problem, but that's more of a "me" problem. |

Fuck them. they removed themselves out of the industry section and pretty much left the site last round of bad press on here. They are a bunch of morons. Yeah they will respond to bad press trying to save what little face they have left. the Last order i placed with them they screwed up three different times. and tried to charge my card for it without my consent or knowledge.

I think dvor keeps cost down by selling stuff they don't actually have. The last couple of things I ordered had delivery times upwards of 4 weeks. But I read the ads before I order so it wasn't a big deal.

A strategy I've used at DVOR to keep from getting burned is to check the number in stock at Optics Planet before buying, because that's where they pull the items from.

I ordered two scopecoats the other week. Well they (OP) sent me the right order, but duplicated. So I got two boxes, with two sets of covers, rather than one.
After a couple days, I got on chat with a specialist and got it straightened out. Not even a thank you, just demands on how to return it to them (which by the way is a fair inconvenience). I asked about keeping them with a discount, maybe for what they would spend on the return shipping. Nope, just "you have 30 days to send them back" ... or else what? you charge me for the products you sent me by accident? 
I was surprised they wouldn't charge me at a discounted rate rather than just lose it on return shipping and then have to deal with the return. From the looks of it, they wouldn't have even known about this had I not come forward. ETA: the funny thing is, the second one had the wrong color scopecoat for one of them |

Well, I know I kind of defended Dvor in this thread but I'm now firmly in the Fuck Dvor camp.
In my other post I mentioned that I knew the items I ordered were going to take about a month to come in....it's been 3 months. Just got off of live chat and they say it's going to be another 3 months on top of that for one of the items. Didn't even get a "Sorry about that." And the thing that really chaps my ass is that they've had the exact same thing for sale on the site multiple times since I put my order in. So they're either just skipping over me or there are a fuck ton of people out their waiting for Maxpedition Vulture packs that they're never going to fucking get. |
