Some of the episodes are starting to feel like shitty scripted reality TV. It's really turning me off.

I've only watched part 1 of the Patagonia special. Best part was Clarkson's obsession with Butch and Sundance.

I wouldn't call having your vehicles damaged by protestors with rocks, needing a police escort, and having to take an off-road shortcut complete with illegal board crossing into Chile in order to avoid the impending riot waiting for you up the road as "halarity".
BBC/Top Gear played a stupid game (putting a license plating referencing the Falklands War) and their staff paid for it.

Three cracked ribs on those shitty roads?? OUCH! That being said, the best part was honestly the last 10 minutes when Clarkson was dubbed over the video of the license plate incident. I knew TG was big, but who knew they had that many crew people with them on one of these special trips they do? It went from lighthearted hilarity to "shit just got real" in a hurry. The video from them camping on the beach was pretty damn awesome too. The amazing places those lucky bastards get to see...... |
