I'm going Mike Post. Had more popular 80s TV theme songs. Whats you're opinion?

I have never heard of either of them, so I do not care.

I thought it was Jan Hammer who did Miami Vice?

Mike Post is a composer of many American TV show themes, Michael Mann is a producer and director of TV shows and movies.

Jan Hammer was the composer for Miami Vice, and nothing else as far as I know.

I need reference material... or you know... a list.

In the 80s I wasn't paying attention to who was in the credits... and to be honest I still don't... unless it's a movie.

For a while, it seemed like every other hit show had a theme by Mike Post.

Miami Vice was the bomb for great music. Jan Hammer's theme song, and all the great pop music they used (and inspired). In my memory, it was one of the first shows that made contemporary music a major part of the show's oeuvre. I recently started watching it on Netflix - it wasn't until about episode 6 that the opening credits & theme music were finalized, before that they were fairly rough. After that, it was the Big Thing on Friday night TV.

Mann is not a composer, Post is...that is like asking who was the better director.
