Got my kids to start eating Spam lite just to change things up every now and then.
Anyone have any personal recipes or experiments which exceeded your expectations?

Cut a slice about 1/2" thick and fry it up

Place on toasted English muffin and top with pepper jack cheese, a fried egg, and hot sauce of choice.

Or you can fry up little cubes of it and mix it with finely cut sticks of carrots and scallions and mix into ramen of choice.

Fry it up with garlic and onions and toss the lot into velveeta shells and cheese.

As odd as it sounds my kids absolutely love sushi rolls made with spam, shrimp, avocado and cucumber.

I knew I would get that reaction. To be honest, it is a comfort and "bring back memories" food for me.
My dad whom I miss dearly would  throw a couple of cans and tortillas in the truck on our hunting trips. He would just cut it up and grill it. You could smel it a few acres away sitting in the deer blind.
My dad lived off of it while in the Pacific fighting the Japanese.
He still liked it afterwards.

Fried Spam and American cheese sammiches.  A staple when we were young and money was extremely tight.

Spam fried rice.  Fry spam and onions up first in sesame oil.

Spam Musubi, sushi style, click pic for recipe.  One does not need the fancy shape maker.  Just add rice in the middle of the nori/nodi(dried seaweed paper), add your spam and fold it up.

Try cutting up and dicing 1 inch cubes of spam and add to your chili.

Spam wonton, click pick for recipe.  Eating this with various sauces is great.  Sometimes I go for basic BBQ sauces and other times I like it with some Thai sweet chili sauce.

I'll buy the single Spam slices and fry them up with onions, toast some bread with butter and mayo. Then top the meat with cheese (provo or American) while still in skillet and then put on bread with said onions and add some tomato slices. Put a pickle on the side. Oh, and don't forget the Ruffles chips.

I like two things.

I use the Lite Spam as that has more than enough fat in it.

1.  Spam casserole in a crockpot.
1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 can Spam Lite cubed
    4-5 sliced potatoes
    1 chopped onion
Add water till close to the top of the solid components.
    Cook for 4 hrs.
(My mom made basically the same thing, but in an oven in a wide flat tray about 2" deep, so the potatoes on top would brown up, and she put bacon slices on it to brown up too.  Very tasty)

2. Grilled Spam sandwich with cheese
    2 slices Spam Lite
2 slices Cheddar or your choice of cheese
A touch of Grey Poupon or your choice mustard on each slice of bread
Grill Spam by itself,  and the bread/cheese just like a grilled cheese.  Put browned Spam into middle of sandwich.  Mustard to taste.

My thoughts exactly

Just leave the can of mystery meat on the store shelf and head to the meat counter and buy a steak.

We grew up on Spam.  Seems Hawaiians, Samoans and Filipinos love the stuff.

I tend to just slice it length-wise and fry it up.

Sometimes I cube it and mix it with the scrambled eggs.

I tried the Teriyaki Spam yesterday....I'd recommend staying away from that one.

It just seems......weird.........

Slice it thick and fry or grill, add a slice of pepper jack cheese, mayo, lettuce and tomato.

Love a Spamburger, don't care who thinks it's gross.

Haters gonna hate I guess.

Me, love the stuff.

Cut n fried is a favorite in my home.

Also, make yourself a honey brown sugar glaze, slather it on, throw it in the oven at 350* for idk 20 min? Absolutely excellant!

Cube up your can of Spam in 1/2" cubes and fry in a skillet with a can of cubed canned potatos until the edges are crispy. Scramble in 8-12 eggs and enjoy.  We make this a lot when camping.  We also make it with leftover ham at home.   It's been our traditional Christmas breakfast since I was a kid.

My grandfather called it "Captain Dewey". I have no idea why.  I asked him one time when I was a kid and he said, "Because that's what it's called!".

Fry Spam slices (four slices to a normal tin) in a little bacon grease, put mustard on both halves of a potato roll bun (has to be a potato roll bun) along with a slab of sweet onion.....Perfection on a bun for those of us with simpler tastes.

I've put pepper jack cheese on there too and it was OK.

Slice it.  Fry it in butter in a skillet on the stove.  Toast some bread, butter it.  Put slices of fried spam on butter toast.

Add a slice of tomato and onion if you like.

And enjoy.  Tastes great.

Pan fried so outside is crispy. Put on toasted bread with American cheese, mayo, and an egg fried in the same pan as the spam, but is still pretty gooey in the middle.

You are welcome.
