According to Yolo County Sheriff’s Lt. Martin Torres, a man looking
for his wallet inside a garbage bin in the North Highlands of Sacramento
area got stuck in the Atlas trash truck when it made its pick-up
Tuesday afternoon.

Torres said in his 27 years of work he hasn’t heard of similar incidents.

"The
man said he was stuck in the truck for about an hour, but estimates
show it was more like 3 or 3 1/2 hours,” Torres said. "The truck made
several other pick-ups before arriving at the landfill, where the driver
saw the man crawl out of his trash pile.”

I was building a "cell" for a landfill. The guys that worked there were all abuzz about a guy the trash truck brought in.

He was in with a load of pallets. The pallets prevented him from being crushed. When the truck dumped the load he got up out of the trash and took off running. The guys that worked there tried to get him to stop. They wanted to see if he was OK and to get him back to town. He was 30 miles from where he got baled.

They told me they averaged one every 18 months. Usually killed the guy though.

This happened to some dips hit here a few years ago. Turned out it didn't happen.

A few guys that work for me used to drive garbage trucks and recycling container trucks.

Everyone of them have multiple stories about homeless guys in dumpsters

The cardboard recycling containers are even more popular.
