Real nice officer...lie to cover your ass.

A former McLean County deputy charged with lying to state police about an on-duty accident pleaded not guilty Friday to six felony indictments.

O'Grady was fired by former Sheriff Mike Emery in January after an internal investigation into a November 2013 two-car accident in rural Colfax. The Illinois State Police investigated the accident that occurred after the officer allegedly pulled off the road and left the squad car.

According to state police reports, O'Grady made false statements about the collision and blamed the second driver, Richard Wills, for causing the accident. Wills was charged with two traffic offenses that were later dismissed. Wills' insurance could have been liable for damages for the vehicles, said police reports.
