Met him at Indy back when he was also into racehorses. Really nice guy! Racers now just aren't the same.

I was fortunate enough to be there for his last Indianapolis 500 in 1992, and was there on Pole Day in '93 when he finally hung it up. There wasn't a dry eye at IMS that morning.

My dad did some welding for him on one his race cars back in the day. Had a lot of fun, said he was a tough SOB. I saw him race at Indy when I was a kid.
