In excess of 100 Polk County sheriff’s deputies
and police officers are searching for robbery suspects who are armed and dangerous and possibly could be in a neighborhood in Haines City. Two bodies were found in a house where one of two suspects were found, said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd at one of two conferences he held Thursday night. Two suspects have been arrested, but two more are still being sought, Judd said. ... Deputies and police officers located a second suspect in a home after a neighbor gave investigators a tip that the suspect was inside. As deputies and police officers set up a perimeter to apprehend the suspect, a vehicle came flying out of the home’s garage, Judd said. Officers shot at the vehicle and then pursued it. The driver of the vehicle crashed and was arrested. He suffered gunshot wounds and police dog bites, Judd said. The suspect sustained non-life threatening injuries. Later, the bodies of two adults were found in the home, Judd said. He did not release any details about their deaths, other than they were homicides. ... The sheriff warned the suspects against firing on officers. "Make no mistake, if they pull guns on us, we will shoot them. A lot,” he said. http://tbo.com/news/crime/polk-swat-team-called-out-to-help ****UPDATE*********** Third suspect captured, manhunt underway for fourth suspect. "HAINES CITY -- Three of the four suspects from Thursday's robbery and ensuing chase in the Haines City area are in custody. In a Friday morning news conference, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd announced a manhunt is still underway for the lone remaining suspect from an Auburndale robbery and a discovery of two bodies in a Haines City neighborhood. Judd identified the bodies as a mother and duaghter, Patricia Moran, 72 and her daughter Deborah Royal of 618 Astor Drive in Haines City. The suspects have been identified as 34-year-old Michael Gordon of Lakeland and Javon Lamb, 29 of Haines City. Suspect Terrell Williams, 29, of Haines City remains at large. *****UPDATE 2************* All four suspects in custody. A Haines City mother and daughter were killed during a manhunt for four men on the run after a terror-filled armed robbery of a pawn store, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. All four suspects were in custody this morning: Terrell Williams, 29, of Haines City; Michael Gordon, 34, of Lakeland; Devonere McCune, 24, of Haines City; and Jovan Lamb, 29, of Haines City. During the manhunt, Patricia Moran, 72, and her daughter Deborah Royal, 51, were found dead at their home Thursday night, Judd said. Moments before the discovery, Gordon had driven an SUV through the home’s garage door in an attempt to flee. Moran and Royal were "viciously” killed in a way "much to graphic to describe,” Judd said at a news conference this morning. |

To put Sheriff Judd's comments in perspective, read the little work up on him here.
"When deputies fired dozens of rounds at a man who had killed one of their own, the sheriff was asked why deputies shot the suspect sixty eight times. Judd replied, "Because we ran out of bullets." His response got the attention of the nation." |

Sheriff Judd is the Joe Arpaio east of the Mississippi.
He is good sheriff that doesn't suffer fools or criminals. After Sandy Hook and all that Libtard craziness about banning firearms and magazines he wrote a letter that said he wasn't going to enforce a ban and got all the other Florida sheriffs to sign it. |
|
Update in OP.
Third suspect caught, one suspect remains at large. Murder victims were two women, a mother and her adult daughter. |
|
I've met Sheriff Judd many times, at Boy Scout and martial arts events that my son attended. Also just ran into him once photographing wildlife in the local nature preserve I frequent. (Almost didn't recognize him in shorts, a Hawaiian shirt and a floppy hat.)
He's a nice guy, very easy to talk to and personable. But he takes his job damned seriously. |
|
So all 4 of these scumbags will be charged with the murder of the 2 women, right?

Wow, I went to the Polk County Jail search and the only one that does not have a long scary rap sheet is the 22 year old -- he only had two arrests. The others had multiples for burglaries, armed robbery, DV, assault, VOP -- just scary stuff.
Hope all four get the needle -- tomorrow would be fine but I assume they will all outlive me. Cue the mommas. |

It's a messed up story over there. Really messed up. I can't imagine what those ladies suffered through before their deaths. Judd said it was too brutal to detail.
All four should go down for those murders, let alone the other crimes. Terrible stuff. |

Good.
I ran a pawn shop in Florida. I opened carried a G19 loaded with Golden Saber 124 grain +P ammo. I was still nervous. The shitheads robbed a check cashing place four blocks from me, shot the place up, and killed one of the clerks. The best medicine for these people is a hole with no headstone. |

Hell when I carried a SS&W 19 as a duty gun I had 30 rounds on me and a box in the brief case. I was being facetious. The reality is the nine officers of the ten member SWAT team fired 110 rounds and hit the cop kiiller 68 times. The bad guy's hand that was holding a pistol was almost severed from his body. Given the number and nature of the police team, I interpret Sheriff Judd's response to mean that the SWAT team shot to slide lock, but did not reload. In any event, Sheriff Judd's response is pure Grady Judd. Side note: The Coroner announced that the cop killer died of natural causes. When the media asked how that could be, he replied that when you are shot 68 times, you are naturally gonna die. |
