They can't remake that movie. Who the hell is going to play Cabbie? You can't replace Ernest Borgnine.

Love the original. Saw it in the theater. However, when you watch it now, the lack of budget really shows.
A remake could be decent. (Will probably suck, though.) |

I would rather see an expansion, 25 years or so beyond the timeline of the original, where the criminal element had become so much more intense, that several other major cities were being used for prison cities.
You wouldn't need much of a special effects budget to do Detroit. |

Other than loads of lens flares and CGI, about the only creative way Hollywood differentiates remakes is by changing the race of characters. So I expect them to cast Jamie Foxx as Snake Pliskin.
