Since there are no decent cars from 1975 (maybe the Datsun/Nissan Z), we need to come up with better options to commemorate our advanced age.

It has to be concealable among a tray of vitamins and Metamucil.

Also, now that you're turning 40, what are you doing different?  I finally decided to run, have a duathalon in 3 months, it's 5K run, 14mi bike, 5K run.  We'll see how well that goes.

I know this is nearly heresy, but I used to own a King Cobra and I thought it was a pile of crap.  I regret selling the Dan Wesson that I sold to buy the Colt.

Ugliest HK ever, but still interesting idea for the sake of a 1975 polymer pistol.

I turn 40 this year. I'm thinking about a Rolex, but just can't accept spending $7,500-$10,000 on a watch. We'll see though.

I do plan to build an AR pistol and buy a S&W 627 Performance Center, Glock 19 Gen4 and something in either 10mm or .45ACP.

Conmcealable is overrated, we're just sitting in the recliner waiting for Matlock to be over so we can get to bed by 4:30.

Smith 41 is a GREAT idea!  Now to find a serial number range from 1975!

I picked up a gp1975 AK last year just for this reason it was such a fine specimen of a firearm its long gone and forgotten, and have pretty much realized there was nothing cool with the 75 stamp. I would like to pick up a few different guns built in 75 (s&w revolver rem 700 and a marlin lever) but its not a really high priority right now

Well I can't say what gun you should buy but I commend you on that strange sounding event you are about to participate in.
I just turned 62.
I have tried to stay in shape since my teens and it has helped me tremendously in the long run.
So keep that workout regimen going.

Shit man in the last two days I have seen the obituaries of two guys I worked with in the old days.
Great guys but they both packed that weight through life.
One is gone at 60 and the other 70.

Good luck.

Considerating yourself an old fart at 39/40 is just plain giving up. I was standing on the focsle of a DDG with an M-14 controlling all the 50 cal crews going through the strait of Hormuz in 2002. Both CIWS mounts in AAW Auto, clearing sector holdback tool removed, hold fire off.

here is the car I always wanted, I'd bet I lusted after this car for 30 years, wanting to get a 1975 model someday.  Then I drove one a few years ago and it lost all it's luster.  What an unmitigated terd.  Zero to sixty-ish in June.....ish.  Handled like a pregnant walrus try to not spill coffee as it glides down the road.

The '75 trans am WAS cool, but died with the mullet.  I don't miss them.

The CZ75 is a great idea, if I can figure out how to get one produced in '75 that will really be cool.
