Just found this show. 6 episodes. Fucking cool brain bendy stuff.
Stupid people need not apply. This ain't no space opera Buck Rogers shit.. |
|
Just discovered it the other day. You sir, know quality writing when you see it.
|
|
Is it possible this dates back to 2011?
Ep. #1 "The National Anthem" Ep. #2 "15 Million Merits" Ep. #3 "The Entire History of You" ? |
|
Episode 1 was good, I couldn't make it through 2,3.... I think I made it through 5 and 6.

|
15 Million Merits was damned good. All calm and placid for half an hour as it does a great job of world building (an vapid, empty Apple future ruled by Candy Crush), then suddenly a series of ruthless sucker punches, bam-bam-bam.

I really liked the originality of this series. I think many of the 6 episodes I watched could be interesting movies.

I've watched 3 eps so far, I'm not blown away. They move sloooooooooooow, yawn. I'm not sure I'll finish the series.

I like it but I couldn't finish the third episode; just a dick being a dick to other dicks. I think they could have explored that subject without the dickyness.

Also, if you had finished the episode you'd have found out Click To View Spoiler he was right in all his suspicions.
The writing juxtaposed a new problem -- being able to scour memory to that level of detail and how it could drive us nuts; with an old problem -- the treachery of deceit and betrayal and the human instinct for fear and paranoia when it seems something might be amiss. I suggest you take in the last five minutes as they're sort of important to the story: Click To View Spoiler He may have been a cuckhold married to a faithless cheating wife, but he had a better life a happier life when he didn't know it. The implication is that maybe having imperfect memory is better than being able to prove up the worst suspicions
Also the way the tech was used for societal control was chilling -- ie how he had to replay memories for security at the airport. I'd say of all the Black Mirror pieces, the idea behind this one has the best potential for a movie spin off. |

Watched the first three episodes the other day. Really liked them.

Just finished the last episode last night. I like the show, but I was surprised when I realized I had moved on to season 2 after only viewing 3 episodes.
15 million merits was my favorite episode. |

Facebook is hard enough on marriages, imagine if it let you replay all of the sex you had in college.

Of course it would quickly get to the point where not having one would imply criminal. Spooky. |

Some employers consider applicants who do NOT have Facebook as being suspect untrustworthy. |

It is fucking amazing!
cerebral and multilayered loved the one with the memory chip, brilliant to put that story in the context they did, the first one was a bit disturbing but valid commentary about our poet modern world. The power of social media is still misunderstood, the one about reality shows was a chilling Could go on all night, see something new every time I watch one of them.... Waldo was a good one as well, did you catch the comparison to our er um current situation? If you liked that there is one called " Utopia" as well, another Brit gem that is not for the faint of heart and Another called " kill list" that needs a couple watchings , it is short on dialogue and big on visuals, to include a hot Swedish girl and G36 porn The Brits are producing some incredible shows |

First episode was great, but the second was nowhere near as good....really dragged on for an hour. Hope the third improves!

Anyone seen the Christmas special? I just saw it.
This show is pretty damn dark, I love it. |

Bump because I finally got to watch them. Wow, super impressed with the writing, SFX, and production values. Thumbs up! |
