I'm interested in getting my SIL some BBQ sauces and rubs for Christmas.  What are your favorites?  He loves to cook and has a pretty nice smoker/bbqer

SIL / him?

I can send you some Bill's seasoning, it is made here.
It is a good rub for anything.

ETA. Son in law?

For rubs look at Head Country and Smokin Guns, both are great all purpose rubs.   For chicken Plowboys Yardbird is outstanding.
I order from Firecraft.

Make your own, put it into mason jars and print a label.

If you buy stuff in bulk, its super cheap.

Do you want a big container or a couple of the smaller ones?
I'll send them to you for nothing.

Your drama and posts have entertained me.

I'll send you two of the smaller ones.

You can keep one to try.
Goes great on pork, chicken , beef and French fries, plus everything else.

My dad got some for us while traveling to different places and tastes.

Try to see about ordering from Georgia and Kansas City. Maybe south Louisiana for the Cajun taste too.

ETA: try your farmers market too for some home made stuff.

Good ones from KC:

-Jackstack sauce
-Oklahoma Joe's
-Sweet Baby Rays

In this order.

Another good one from a guy I know is called Texas in a Bottle.  He moved from TX to WA and bottles his own and sells it.  Has won awards for it and it is very good.

If you want to get some hot BBQ sauce I picked some of this up for some friends and it lit them all up pretty good.  Best for adding to other sauces to kick them up a bit.
http://store.bubbalous.com/product/bubbalous-psycho-bbq-sauce/

As also mentioned above to make your own rub and give that as a gift to add that personal touch.
I use this one as a base and add a few of my own spices... http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/member/views/CHRIS-LILLYS-SIX-TIME-WORLD-CHAMPIONSHIP-PORK-SHOULDER-52415241

I also really like stubbs as also mentioned above as it has much higher quality ingredients than the cheap stuff.  It also does not burn like the cheap stuff that is mostly sugar.  Runs $3 to $4 a bottle

Check out Allegro if you can find it. Their marinades will make a 2 dollar pork chop taste like a 20 dollar ribeye and the BBQ sauce is hands down the best tasting thing on gods green earth. Dammit now I'm hungry.

I have a bunch, but they are all in a book out at my camp though (that's where I BBQ).

You could make a post asking for recipes, I am sure you will get some good ones.

You could always just go with something simple like this one...nothing special, but works well in many situations.
1/4 cup Paprika
1/8 cup Fresh Ground Black Pepper
1-2 tablespoons Garlic Powder
1-2 tablespoons Onion Powder
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon or more Cayenne Pepper
1/4 cup Coarse Salt
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
