what options are out there for gas block height front sights?
I have a MI GB height sight on my stag right now and I just can't get over how it folds forward.
it makes the gun look really stupid.

I'd like something different, I'm leaning more towards a fixed sight as opposed to a folder. but I'd consider either if there is a decent made rear folder option.

I've seriously considered getting a rail mounted A2 style front sight but all of them I find either don't say they are GB height or as made by a no name company and cost under $20 which doesn't exactly scream quality.

tag since im in the same boat. i have the same front folder and not liking it.

only decent one ive found was the DD fixed but i wanted a folder.

the DD one looks great, but their page only lists a rail height one.

Aren't they pretty much standard with just different sized pins available?

I prefer the A2, with magnified optics you can't even see it.

Keep in mind, whatever you stick on that gas block is going to get HOT.

I wanted a folder originally because I was using a 1-4X scope and on 1X a front sight is very noticeable.
I now have that optic on my rifle and this carbine is getting an aimpoint.
with the aimpoint a front sight is not a big deal.

Any reason you even need irons?

On a fun gun or hunting rifle it's probably redundant.

the easy answer honestly is to get a receiver height gas block and a normal flip up sight.

albeit they look slightly more goofy.

all of my AR's have back up irons
all of them with optics have QD mounts
sometimes I like to take the optic off and use just the irons.
I like having the option of one or the other. I like having a back up if I use the optic.

this AR is pretty much my one go to gun if I ever were to need a rifle. it's my carbine, it is the most versatile of my AR's..

i wanted an a2 sight but my barrel wont work with it.

i forsee a rail down the line but for now the silly front folder does its job. just looks goofy.

I can tell you that Atomic Tactical in MN has a bunch of these on sale in their shop. Call them.

I say Troy and MI. Used, but in good shape.

No, having them is, but only on certain rifles.

Obviously for a working gun they should be on there.
