That your supervisor sent you [probably accidentally as he's kind of a dumb ass] calling all the employees under him dogs. Context is that there is a lot of work and they will need to force employees to stay over, instead of saying employees, he called them all dogs.

Now, this is a newer supervisor, doesn't know jack and shit about the job [seriously] and doesn't have a relationship with any of the employees under him to talk to them in that manner.

I can pretty much guarantee he sent the IM/text to everyone instead of to the person he was likely texting with.

Going to pretty much bet there are a couple people that will be in personnel before the end of the day........................

Print and save a copy #1.

Forward it to labor relations with a  "woof woof "  attached and ask for special treats if you are viewed as or referred to as dogs.

Dogs, cogs, walking equipment, unavoidable capital investment, etc.

Does it really matter if he used the wrong one in an IM?

With the exception of one person, the employees I work with bust their ass every day and probably make 40-50% or more over their normal 40 hour pay working OT. Considering that we have 40% of the department that could walk out tomorrow and retire which would put a serious hurting on the department, why would you piss them off calling them names? And you don't just go out and find replacements, it would be several years before they could train, test, and qualify people to replace them.

He's been employed by the company since summer 2014.

Or you could let him know that when Doggie doesn't get scratched on his belly every so often, he will start digging holes under the fence.

How would feel ?

I wouldn't care. I would read it and delete it. And I may or may not try to get out of working OT depending on if the money was worth it to me.

I got over being upset at name calling in grade school. I am not sure I ever ran to the teacher screaming that someone called me names.

I really don't think calling employees under you ''dogs'' is professional in the least. The name isn't the big deal, it's the attitude toward them  that it implies. This is the same guy that wants me to call him when I go on emer runs so he can tag along and learn something. As it is, he's not really even technically allowed to do anything more on scene then watch from a distance as he's not a "competent" person and has no qualifications.

Yeah, it isn't professional.
And he may be an asshole.

All over the place with his picture next to it framing the text as a "Talking Bubble" showing him saying it.

If management doesn't act then he will probably just resign do to a harsh working environment that he won't be able to cope with.

If that doesn't work there is always a smoking bag of feces to exploit...

Had an old supervisor who would greet us each morning with a friendly "morning bitches!"

Our response was usually "how's it going asshole?"

I do miss the days before political correctness.

That's a bit different, I don't think you'd feel the same if it was someone that just took over your department and didn't know anyone.

If they all got the same message, I would privately stir the coals if I disliked the super. That way someone else can go full derp, turn super in to HR and have everyone hate them. You just have to sit back and make sure you dont burn the popcorn
