Needed some new defensive ammo and got a box of these
The price was good. Are they good to go.
I think I had the Winchester 124g +p.

I use Federal HST 124 or 147 +P and Gold dots 124 +P  which ever performs better in the intended pistol

I have them in my daily carry M&P9C and I think they are in the bathroom G19.  I haven't had to use them, and most of the tests I have seen showed they expand.

Edit: YouTube has a bunch of vids of different rounds going into gel.  That should help you validate your $15 purchase.

I've been carrying them in my glocks, accurate and reliable. i have seen tests that show they "over penetrate" however.

I have / use Federal HST 124gr and Gold Dot 124gr for the HD load.  I am hoarding my Ranger +P 124gr T's. I had seen the listing at Widners for the IMI 115gr EX-STAR so I bought a few boxes and they have proven to be very accurate.

I have reloaded 147gr Hornady XTPs with very good results but I have never used the Critical Duty ammo. If I get the results I am looking for at the range then I start looking at the videos on youtube. If I like what I see I buy more but I don't place all of my needs on one brand or type.

I have never seen any follow up information on the IMI so I only have a few boxes.

I'm using a G19 with a KKM barrel

I have one of my 9MMs loaded with these. I also keep them in my main carry gun while deer hunting(penetration). Great ammo so far.

I use them they seem all right. Midway has them on sale for $20 a box. I drove there yesterday and picked up 2 boxes and a magazine. I can't find HSTs anywhere.

If its not on the list in the ammo oracle, I don't use it.

If you take all of these criteria into account, the lists should come as no surprise. Please note that all of the recommended pistol loads listed below have been personally tested and vetted by Dr. Roberts. THEY ARE NOT IN ORDER OF PERFORMANCE, SO ANY BULLET ON THE LIST IS CONSIDERED ACCEPTABLE.

Some of the newer HP ammo is not on the AO.

We at the Sheriff's Office spent a day shooting handgun ammo at bare gel, gel with denim, gel behind window glass, etc.  We had a shitload of ammo, including stuff guys brought from home, etc.  Critical Duty consistently impressed.  We issue it now in place of the Gold Dots we were carrying.

I shot these myself. 9mm and .45 HST on top and Hornady on the bottom. You pick which one performed better.

I think DocGKR got sick of the bullshit and bailed on ARF

and TOS.  Not sure the "best choices" list is necessarily

up to date these days?

I have them in the standard pressure and will use them without reservation as long as they function.

I really don't care about "the list" as all handgun rounds suck.

Nope. Have a thousand rounds of Speer Gold Dot 147gr. that I use.

This. Shot placement and sufficient penetration are paramount, all else is secondary.

Not to mention zero in 10mm.   I realize this thread is 9mm specific, but the AO write up should not be viewed as all inclusive.

Good luck finding the ranger HST.  I know it's out there but unless you're a LEO it's a bitch to get.

I have it and use it but it's time to cycle my carry ammo.

Standard pressure is best pressure. In all if these weights and loads it meets all penitration standards and also gives you faster follow up shots and less wear on the gun. No reason to shoot +P, even in winter. I'm sure some will disagree but everything I have read over the past 20 years and training with the best instructors in the country lead me to believe this.
