After a few times of going 'nuts' and shaving; you'll find that it's two weeks before the itch...then three...then...someone hand me a comb.

I've never gotten "the itch". Didn't really know it was a thing. Sometimes if I let the hair get too long over my mouth it dries out my lips though I guess?

Once it get longer, it'll feel softer, itch less. Then the next time you grow it out, it won't bother you as much.

Fight through it. The itching should stop soon.
Put some oil or lotion on your face/beard. The moisturizer helps with the itching some. |

Growing mine out also. Third time and it has itched less each time.
+1 on the lotion. Just make sure it is good for your face. Nothing worse than a pimple beneath your beard to drive you nuts. |

The only time my beard ever itches is if I shave it off, it's the stubble that gets you.
Should be through it soon. |

I tried for a full beard recently for the first time in years. Could not stand the itch. Also some jerk stole all my beard hairs and replaced them with gray ones when I was sleeping.

the trick is to hit it with a beard trimmer to knock the sharp point on the hairs off that you get from a razor...then, no itch..

I think I'm done with letting mine grow out. #3 clipper from now until it stops growing, I think. Just not wild about having a big beard anymore.
The itch is like guitar callouses, at least it was for me. Get over it once, and it's never really an issue again. If you get an itch after that, it's probably dry skin, use some lotion or moisturizer. Honestly, though, you've never committed to a beard until you shave it off and immediately want to grow it back because you dribble something down your chin every time you eat or drink. |

It'll go away after a couple of weeks. I haven't shaved since October. Well bottom of the neck so I don't have ugly scruff on the neck but otherwise just letting the chin/cheeks grow in. I've never had my mustache this long, it tends to dip into my cup as I drink
