Does that mean cops off duty can't carry in there. If they can are they allowed to drink. If they can drink what stops them from getting drunk. Seems getting drunk and aggressive happens in bars all the time. And if those are facts cops shouldn't be able to carry in bars either.

The armed robbers didn't seem to be deterred by the "off limits" thing.

Here in Florida we are required to stay out of any  "portion " of the establishment that receives the majority of its revenue from he sale of alcohol, but we can sit at a restaurant table situated out of the actual bar area and even order drinks with our meal.

My personal limit is one drink.

Someone told me a story once, not sure if it was true...

Down in Dade, maybe around '90, someone robbed a secluded 7-11. At intersection in front of the store, a car stopped and waited through the green light. When the robber ran out of the store, he was met his end by 44 mag. The occupant of the car waited for him at the light and blasted him DRT. Then drove away. And the good guy was never located.

It isn't in Wisconsin.  You just can't be drinking (or intoxicated) while carrying.  Hangin in the bar having a burger and a coke?   Perfectly fine!

Might not have been a good guy.  Maybe the robber was double crossed by an accomplice.  Did they recover the stolen property?

True.
But from what I have seen in the past when someone kills another in commission of a felony they usually let the shooter slide on charges unless he is a felon who is not even supposed to have a gun.

We have the same rule.  Which can be tough since most businesses don't list their revenue statistics on their web pages.

IIRC, there is a law that if you use a weapon for defense, they cannot prosecute for the carry offense.

California is like that for CCW.

Good shoot = No CCW W/O permit charge.

Guy in question might have split because he was worried about prosecution for having the gun in the bar or he is already a prohibited person.
Having to go to court, testify, face potential gang retaliation etc is also a possibility.
