Ill admit that I listen to Rush every day, and have done so for years. But lately, say the past two years or so, I find myself listening out of habit more so that an interest in what he actually has to say. Yes, he is a potent voice on the Right and his opinions have considerable influence on the rank and file, and to some extent on policy makers, but perhaps that influence is starting to wane. It seems that as of late he spends so much time talking about the NFL, Apple products, or matters that I personally find irrelevant, and spending less and less time discussing political matters that it has sort of become background noise. Maybe his heart isn't in it to the degree it once was, perhaps its his age, or perhaps he's simply in a funk and bored with the whole thing.

I can't fucking stand him.

If I make myself listen to him, I tend to find I agree with him, but his delivery disgusts me. NPR is the opposite. I love the delivery but I have to turn it off sometimes because of my blood pressure.

I listened before it was a commercial every 15 seconds to pay his salary.  Also, the pill fiasco really turned my opinion of him.  After that, he was just a smooth salesman just telling me what I wanted to hear.

My dad listens to him.

Once, a caller asked him why there was so much methane on other planets if methane was a fossil fuel. He then jokingly asked if scientists believed that there were dinosaurs on other planets.

Rush responded with. "that's a very good point!"

I don't listen to talk radio anymore after the last two elections. It's such a waste of time and does nothing but raise the blood pressure. It literally means nothing to listen and agree with people like Rush in the grande scheme of things. Maybe some need that kind of thing, but I've just grown tired of it. Not to mention the times that Rush has an I told you so moment with some audio clip from a couple years ago, but fails to mention he spouts off so much crap that something's bound to stick sooner or later.

Disagree.  Rush is very intelligent.  In addition, he's usually right.

Savage is the kooky uncle who is a decent guy and occasionally right, but when he's wrong, he's so fucking wrong.  And he's often wrong.

The NFL and Apple talk doesn't really bother me because he seems to know what he's talking about. What sucks about his show and what makes me think I've been taking crazy pills is. His inability (I know, due to his hearing) to understand or grasp simple concepts put forth by callers. He is constantly getting it wrong, not understanding their point correctly, or totally not grasping what they are saying. This is awful on a talk radio show. It is like listening to a half wit hosting a national radio show.  He should not take callers because it is a drag on the show.

I listen to Rush rarely now because I am too busy during the day to tune in. The times I have heard him lately he seems to recognize the Dems are socialist/facist and the Repubs aren't much better. Plus the Repubs are completely ineffective as an opposition party because they really aren't an opposition party. They have no platform and no guts. The Dems just keep advancing their agenda as fast or as slowly as they can at any given time. The Repubs have no agenda.

Strange, I got off work an hour early today, so I got to hear Rush on the drive home.  It has been a long time since I heard Rush, though I do remember him from the early days, and remember when he guest hosted the Pat Sajak  TV show.  (I guess I am showing my age there).

Back in the day, he was new and fresh.  I can remember being tempted to turn off the radio when I parked the car, so no one would know that I was listening to Rush Limbaugh.  After much mental wrestling, I fortunately got over this feeling, but it is a sign of the early 1990s, that in Kentucky , I would feel so.

I listened to him due to some odd fluke of workplace timing, when he was accused online of being intoxicated.  (Perhaps not the best terminology, but that is what I am going to use).

He had a style that was new and fresh at the time.  He was a welcome voice to a land that had lost contact with many of the original concepts that had made this country great.  Today, many carry on this work.  Rush may be getting a bit dated, but he was the voice of reason on the radio when he started.

I am getting older myself.  I find myself repeating myself.  I find myself concentrating on things I enjoy.  So I guess I am  sort of like Rush myself.

I usually listen to NPR going to work in the morning.  Though I understand their bias, they usually do a pretty good job.  (Rush has his biases also, but he doesn't have to pretend not to, a big difference).

As a small l libertarian, I believe the market will settle this debate.  Strangely enough, Rush is on the air, while many people are working, whereas Sean Hannity and Jerry Doyle are on the air after the first shift workers have left their place of employment.  Though, I do understand that time zones affect this.

I have listened to Rush for more than.....gulp.25 years.

In the beginning he was funny and irreverent.

Then he became informational and taught me a lot about how the world of politics works. He motivated me to DO something because of the crap he was exposing.

As of late all I hear him do is admire the problem......Problems that I can discern for myself now that I'm a graduate from the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies . In fact the issues I study and the problems in this country that I see are things that he rarely ever mentions and when he does it's just more admire the problem to hear himself speak. (ever read one of the transcripts from one of his programs?)  I'm on the cutting edge of societal evolution now, the Shit is Hitting the Fan and Rush no longer has any answers.

Rush doesn't have answers because Rush doesn't live like "normal" people do any longer. He quite frankly is out of touch. (how many of us have Gulfstream V's?)  Go ahead and try driving a pickup truck over on Palm Beach Island and you can use a stop watch to gage how quickly you will meet officer not so friendly if you don't have "permission" to be there.

That said; I still listen to him almost daily at least for a while because he does still have some perspectives that I don't think about (like his point today that Ebola is going to kill the Dem's chances of Amnesty)......

Really, out of touch. He has been so right on his predictions, even the jokes he tells about how out of control the .Gov will get have been right. For the last several years he has castigated the Republican Party for it suicidal embrace of Amnesty and the Party's refusal to embrace the TEA Party and put forth a conservative agenda.

He was predicting the attacks on football three years before they happened, he only got the time line wrong, the thought it would take 5-10 years.

He was interesting maybe 20 years ago.
Then the cult following, 'ditto's, 'mega ditto's'.
Mouth piece for those whom can't think for themselves.
And, his voice sounds tinny again, wonder if he's on oxycontin again?
Remember in 2003 he was hooked on it and it destroyed his hearing, needed a cochlear implant?
"Do as I say, not as I do."
Is why you have a dial to change stations.
