Today is his last day to sign, veto, or let it pass without signature. So far no word on the worst of the laws, but he signed the one allowing family to petition a judge to take away a family members gun rights.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Gov. Jerry Brown has signed a bill making California the first state that allows family members to ask a judge to remove firearms from a relative who appears to pose a threat. Brown announced the bill signing Tuesday. It was proposed by several Democrats and responds to a deadly rampage in May near the University of California, Santa Barbara. Is the end of SSE still up for debate or is that already a done deal?

From what I can tell police provide a compelling reason to revoke someone's right to possess a firearm and the judge either affirms or denies. No where does it say that the person being accused of whatever is being alleged appear and face their accuser.
More tyranny. |

Holy shit. What'll they chip away at next, after there's no more firearms in CA?
|
|
I have a Dream.
I dream of the day that we'll have a conservative...truly conservative government with a conservative Attorney General....that will pass a 'Firearms Owners Protection Act" with real teeth....and when a state violates the Second Amendment right to Keep and Bear arms, the Feds come down on them. When a state repeatedly violates that right...they have to submit ALL potential firearms legislation for approval by the Federal Government and Justice Department.....basically what they did with the Voting Rights Act. |

And basically bans airsoft "assault weapons" ) If the airsoft gun is configured as a rifle or long gun, in addition to the blaze orange ring on the barrel required by federal law, the airsoft gun has a trigger guard that has fluorescent coloration over the entire guard, and there is a two centimeter wide adhesive band with fluorescent coloring around the circumference of any two of the following:
(i) The protruding pistol grip. (ii) The buttstock. (iii) A protruding ammunition magazine or clip. LMAO. De facto ban on airsoft guns if toy stores dont start painting them bright orange |

I honestly don't know how you guys fight against this in California. You're severely outnumbered, it's nigh impossible to vote an incumbent out, etc.
The courts are all that's left. |
