Everyone here knows that recently I've been on a Garand binge.   I wasn't sure why, but today I realize what  motivates me.

We lived through the gun registry and it was a dark point in Canadian history.  So the chance to build a firearm without government interference is something incredibly liberating.

I read that Obungo would not allow the importation of Korean Garands into the United States because he "did not want military grade weapons out on the streets"

Well that is exactly what I want.  After I die, I want dozens of Garands to be out on the streets.  I want to flood Canadian streets with military grade weapons.  I want to be the Johnny Appleseed of the Garand M1.

That's why I am going to buy another 25 receivers tomorrow.  And heaven help me, I will have each and every one of them built into a rifle.

Finally, I would exhort every one of my arfcom brethren to build as many firearms as possible. Whether an AR-15, a Garand or whatever.  Build the best weapons possible and do it for future generations.  Do it for the children.

That's basically Ares Armor's business policy, and California is so pissed about it, they're trying to pass specific legislation to stop him.

This is, I'll remind the class, a weapon that criminals do not even consider using to perpetrate their crimes.

Say what you will about "not exercising your right or it might get taken away," but there's no doubt whatsoever that politicians fear these weapons.

I don't even think it's about the obvious practical effects of their use - simply the confidence and self-reliance they reinforce within their owners is damning enough for those who wish to spread socialism.

I realized today that I was dabbling.  It's time to get really, really serious.  I can and will do much better.

The receivers are $50 each and I had better hurry.   My favorite dealer only has 30 left.

I had two arrive today, but I have to get more.  I have to get all those receivers before they are sold to dabblers.

A Marine infantry platoon consists of approximately 41 personnel.  Can you imagine if I could arm the equivalent of a Marine platoon--all with Garands?

Don't be.  You have the CMP.  You can get your Garands that way.

But this is going to be my life's work.  I'm really serious.  I only hope that I live long enough to have them all built

Where's the 1940s era magazine page scan that showed the cost breakdown of a WWII infantryman?

The Garand was listed at something like $200, and it wasn't even a third of the overall cost of a soldier's kit.

Helmet, uniform, LBE, ammo, messkit, bedding, medical supplies, tools... it adds up.

If that's your goal, you've got a long way to go.

He mentioned $50 earlier.  In the past I'd make a joke about how many "real" dollars that was, but not anymore.

I just got back from the post office where I mailed a bank draft for the order.

But I feel really sad.  It is going to take perhaps ten years to build all these receivers into rifles and by that time, my dear dog will be gone.  Bimba Bulldog will not be around to see 41 Garand rifles.

And how many of my friends will be gone?  And maybe I won't be around either.  The whole thing is depressing and I'm looking at it now in a different sense.

I'm looking at it now with a profound sense of duty My duty is to flood the streets with military grade weapons.. I will build all 41 rifles and I am even going to have a special cartouche made:

It will say, "FTL", which stands for "Fuck the Liberals"

Fuck Yeah!  I love this guy.  No homo.

Something is very wrong when Canada is whipping our asses in the gun culture.  I mean bagged milk and $400 Norinco M1As.

Fluffy I accept your challenge.  I will go and buy at least 2 ar-15 lowers in the next month.  1 for a Pistol AR and the other, I dunno yet, maybe a KISS carbine

I just built my first AR and its really kinda nice putting it all together.  Got a couple of things to add to it (BUIS and Sling) to my A3 style 20inch AR.

Wow... seriously deep, moving, loving, and dedicated devotion to the cause. I honor you sir. I sit on over 100 firearms but I sometimes want to liquidate them to fund other projects. My only thoughts are that by me collecting them I keep them from Captain Crunch and allow future generations to shoot them or if needed... fight with them.

The majority are mostly bolt action Milsurps.
