Overall, which was the more pleasant era to live in for you? Not in terms of politic preferences but just the times in general

Poll fail.
No option for a time period before these two socialist shitheads. Out of the options, probably Bush. At least there were a few good years during his bubble. |

When most Americans look back, they'll remember having steady jobs or at least being able to find them during the Bush years. Under Obama people are getting laid off or changing jobs every 12-18 months.

From 2001-2007, I was either in high school or in the military. Both kind of sucked, and my life since then has been much more enjoyable.

It was W and not the dems dicking with fannie and freddie. All W's fault. You know why I'm out of spaghetti I made last night? Not because I ate it all. It was fucking W. |

Before the currant idiot and chief. The one before him sucked as well but I had a much better job that the currant idiot and his global warming BS took away.

Things were a lot easier and more pleasent for me under Bush

The twenty years between 1945 and 1965 were pretty sweet... and will probably be remembered as our high point.

What sort of question is that? Dubya's time was a boom era (all falsely fueled by artificial credit and an era of unprecedented consumer spending). We're broke now, high unemployment, many homes foreclosed, many unemployed and in bigger debt than before. Blame the Fed Res.

During Obama. You said not politics, so during his reign I:
-Got out of the military and got a 120% pay raise -Bought two homes -Got married -Finished a degree -Got my avatar -Began career transformation to be self-employed ETA: That was actually summer of 2008 so under Bush |

I want to live in an era where I can mail order a gun and have it delivered to my front door by my friendly and somewhat alcoholic postman as if it's a perfectly normal thing.

Both were and are shit. Bush was a scum bag and so is Obama. Bush tripled the size of the fed, passed unconstitutional laws in the name of "public safety" and left the economy in shambles. Obama just rolled with everything.

The 50s. View Quote You must be kidding. If you think the 50s were so great, then you obviously weren't alive back then. Remember Polio? I remember being scared shitless after a girl I went to school with came down with it. Talking about school: The kid who lived down the block from me was not allowed to enroll in school. He was in a wheel chair, and the school board said that they didn't have the facilities to accommodate him. Nice kid, and very bright. But no school for him. His parents had to home school him. Ever have any heart problems? Be glad you're not living in the 50s. I had a stent put in a couple of years ago due to a blocked artery in my heart. In the 50s I would have died. Ever have a kidney stone? They didn't have lithotripsy back then. You had to have some pretty major surgery to cut those things out. And don't forget the changes in our legal system. Back in the 50s, the cops could arrest you for Vagrancy, which was defined as "failure to give a good account of yourself". They could also arrest you for "Suspicion", and hold you for 48 hours without charging you. Yeah, the 50s were great. Just fucking wonderful |
