I'm not sure it ever really stopped.
Is it anywhere near height of the cold war tensions? Not even close but we will always be adversarial with Russia to a degree. |

Unless Putin and Obama are going to fight in single combat it isn't a cold war. Them having a tougher leader doesn't give them a military force capable of attacking the United States. Also, Obama will be gone in two years and for all they know our next leader will be Yosemite Sam. There is no mutually assured destruction, only their destruction. They are no longer a superpower and couldn't field a military to fight us here. |
