I was just wondering.
As for me, my Glock 35 is loaded with 180 gr Black Talons (the real stuff, no sissy loads), [;)] and my Glock 27 is stoked with Speer Gold Dot 155 grainers.

The wife's .38 is packing some Speer +P 125gr GD's, while her cute little Kel-Tec snacks on 52 grains of Speer GD's.

The AR mags have 75 gr TAP, and the 12 gauge always likes the Federal Tactical 00 Buck.

Just writing it makes me smile-try it, it's quite rewarding.

Perhaps it would be more accurate to ask "what are your weapons loaded with right now?"

This may be slightly off topic, but I wonder what kind of ammo the TN police officer in the 'exploding dog' video was using.

I've got 230gr ball and 185gr Golden Saber  (.45 ACP)...spaced every other round. If the ball doesn't stop them, the golden saber will. IF the golden sabre doesn't penetrate enough, the ball will.

At least that's my thoughts......

I carry an 8 rd. En-bloc clip for a Garand in my pocket, loaded with some military surplus ammo.  I keep it there to remind me that I've got a Garand on layaway, and not to make any big purchases.  Doesn't work very well tho....  :(

Hey NAM, if the guy has too much cover/armor for a GS to pass through, the fmj isn't likely to do jack either.  If the GS loaded .45 doesn't stop him, you had better hit the BG with your vehicle!

But hell, there are no right or wrong answers.  The only bad answer to "what are you carrying now?"  is "nothing"

Carry in the PRK? I wish.

Mossberg 500 has first two rounds #4 personal defense, followed by 3 rounds 00 buck backed up by 6 more 00's on the sidesaddle. If I cannot get it done around the house with this, it cannot be done. Outside there would be some slugs on the sidesaddle as well.

1911/P220 - 230 grain hyrdroshoks
All 9's - 124g Gold Dots.
XD40 - Still in test mode.
.357mag - 158g lead nose generic hollow points.
Bushies get good old 55g fmj.

The 03a3's and the M1a are for a different kind of work...

  Glock 19
  Winchester Ranger 9mm Luger +P+
  127 GR. SXT  JHP RA9SXTP

Also have as back up rounds
  Winchester Black Talon 9mm Luger
147 GR. SXT Deep Pentrator JHP S9MM

These aren't no wimppy 9mm rounds.
I have found ammo test sites that claim. The Winchester Ranger rounds can penatrate soft body vest and Black Talons don't.

Carbine, are those Ranger SXT rounds nickel-plated cases or plain brass?

FWIW, there is an awesome deal on all kinds of premium .40 ammo in the EE now, but I'm not saying where...you guys will have to check for yourselves, per board regs.

IM me if you're really having a hard time finding it.

Tactical Briefs (I think) had some reviews of the .40 S&W Ranger SXT (LEO), fired from the short bbl Glock 27, and it still kicks ass.

Penetrated an average of 11 in of bare gel, and about 13 in of denim covered gel.  I can only imagine what it would do out of my Glock 35 with its 5.3 inch bbl.- ANYONE here chrony this stuff???
