-Has a really long lens

Haven't you ever seen pictures of protected scientists taking lava samples?

These types of activities are relatively safe and commonplace.

I sure wouldn't want to walk on ground that may or may not be a thin, fragile floor with a red-hot cavern underneath.  I wonder if anyone has ever fallen through the ground into lava before.  Mmm, barbecue.

In Bill Nye, the lucky guy got to go to a small Poihoihoi (sp?) flow in Hawaii and, with a heat reflecting suit on, chipped at a seemingly cool boulder with a pickax and exposed some beautiful lava.  THis flow was safe, as all the lava was on the surface (no caverns).
