Man accused of animal abuse

SPRING HILL -- A 38-year-old man was charged with animal cruelty after he shot a squirrel this weekend, authorities said. Eric Neumann of 7181 Landmark Drive told deputies he was angry at squirrels because one jumped on his daughter's head as she played with toys in the back yard. One of Neumann's neighbors, Phillip Brown, reported him.

Brown was walking his dog on Sunday when he heard a shot. He looked up at the tree line and saw a small squirrel stumble across a branch and then fall to the ground. He called the Sheriff's Office. Neumann told deputies that the neighborhood had too many squirrels and he wanted them all to be gone, deputies said. He was shooting at them with a BB gun, authorities said.

Hmm...

Discharging a weapon in a populated area, maybe.

Hunting without a license (if he didn't have one), possibly.

Cruelty to animals?  You must be joking.

Sounds to me that he is being denied the right to self-defense.

It may have been a hate crime, but we don't know if they were red or gray.

If he had said he was just killing them for fun, it would not have been so bad.But when he said "he was angry at the squirrels"....well,that made it a "hate crime"!

The terrifying thing is that in todays world, this statement may not be too far off the mark.

In other news, Police officer shoots a family dog in the face with a 12 gauge in front of the family.

Obviously cops aren't citizens any longer.

Seven times this summer squirrels have knocked some really cool looking birdfeeders(my dad's into woodworking) out of the trees damaging them in various ways. Five of those times I've been guilty of animal cruelty and there's still an army of those little bastards out there. Like any other animal I like them fine til they damage property or decide to use kids as scratching posts and then they got to go. On occasion I've relocated some animals but I'm not even going to try catching/handling a squirrel. Screw that.

I shot 4 squirrels (2 red and 2 grey), used my 7.5" AR and suppressor from the tree condo. Am I cruel? I kept 3 of them, in the freezer. I do have a hunting license.

Shooting a squirrel is animal cruelty now? LMAO!!!!!!!

I've killed hundreds of chipmunks(damned things multiply faster than rabbits), and lots of red squirrels as well.. I feed them to the crows and 'yotes.. Is that destroying evidence??  ;)

I DESPISE SQUIGGERS! If there was an orgainzed hate group against squirrels I'd be the Grand Raptor at the "acorn burning". When I was in summer school in college, I was mugged by a squirrel. There I was, mindin' my own business, studyin my Uta Hagen when this little grey bastard nut-head hops up on my table and literally snatches my strawberry cream cheese croisant outta my hand and runs off with it. Well being of Scottish descent I of course gave chase until I was admonished by a "neo-pagan" unshorn sister of the apocolypse for abusing the poor little oppressed "rodent-american".
I told her to "shut her filthy clam pleaser" unless she was willing to spare the little bastard be reimbursing me for my loss. Her ruse worked. She had distracted me long enough for the little nut huffer to get away!
Their little chatter noises? It's laughter. They are laughing at us! At all the pain and misery thet they have caused mankind!
Oh, by the way, they look really funny flying through the air after being blasted from 15 feet away with a 12ga #8 dove load. Laugh now rat fu#&er!
My dog, who is black, hates squirrels too, so it's not a race thing. It's a species thing!
RODENTEN RAUS!!!!

Remember about a month ago there was an article about a squirrel terrorizing an entire town in England?

The [s]Sheeple[/s] citizens were helpless to protect themselves.

Now we know why.

Typical Floriduh liberal PETA whackos. Stupid Floriduh voters care more about pigs than people, that is, the ones who aren't so stupid that they can't figure out how to punch a hole in a ballot. I don't know why anyone would want to live in that shithole swamp of a state. Bob Graham, Janet Reno, drug kingpins, illegal aliens... what the hell is going on there? When is a hurricane going to come along and wipe that place off the map?

Funny Squirrel Story

I used to have a hillbilly friend who lived with and supported his parents and the extended family.  He and his wife were the only ones that worked.  They really were from way back in the WV hills.  The father had never worked a day in his entire life due to a "bad back".  I was showing my buddy a new Feinwerkbrau air rifle I had just bought when a sqirrel ran down a telephone line in the alley where we and his dad were standing. His dad shot at the squirrel and missed and then starting running flat out chasing the squirrel.  He leaped over trash cans and high fences.  He only occasionaly stopped to reload and shoot.  He ran through every yard in the neighborhood and jumped every fence.  Never did get the squirrel.  I guess his back was better that day.
