This awesome boxer (puppy) in great condition was found on the freeway last night between Sherman, TX and McKinney, TX.
This dog has a tag, but no one ever answers the phone.

Does anyone have any "resources" that could be used to track down the owner?
If you do, please contact the owner, email me, and I will send you my contact information to forward to them.

(If it were my dog, I would hope that the finder would try as hard as I am to locate me.)

Here is what is on the tag:

1510 E. LINDSEY Apt A
405-307-0484

Thanks in advance!

PS: I cannot afford this dog.  She is sweet though, and gets along with my dog Snugz.  If I cannot find the owner soon, I will have to spend about $100 on shots, etc.  I already spent $100 on a cage that is still too small for her (she cannot stand up).  So the sooner I find them, the better!

Maybe they moved to the area?

Perhaps call the local PD in their town and ask them to swing by there and see if they still live there?

E. Lindsey is a street in Norman OK.

You might try contacting Dallas Boxer Rescue via e-mail at [email protected] or by calling 972-495-7994.  They are nice folks who are looking to help lost boxers.

I'd take this one off your hands, but we already have 4.  [%|]

Please post pics of your boxers.

I checked the phone number and it is in Norman, OK.

I was just thinking if there was a rescue organization, like they have for other breeds.

I haven't met the pup yet, but I may want to adopt this puppy if the owner cannot be located. My next door neighbor has a pup, and they just moved here. Could it be theirs? I do hear barking, but it sounds like a louder dog, so they may have two.

I would like to help all lost and neglected animals, but its just too hard to do...

Hey Bud,

where are you located?

Have you tried the name on Switchboard?

How far are you from that address?

I tried a reverse phone search on Switchboard. Nothing.

Someone figured out a possible name, so we looked him up-- found two nearboy-- they could have moved to the area.

what would piss me off is if they dropped him off and left...

Gets me pissy when people dump stray animals for dead...

but hopefully you will find a good home for him

good point. But usually they would leave the collar off, right?

Also, if it was returned and dumped again later, that would really suck!

Take it to the vet, check for a chip, or see if they know how to track lost pets through their network... if they have one.

I'm w/ Bud.  I'd turn the pup over to someone that will appreciate and care for the animal.

(although it would be sad that the reason the phone never gets answered is because the owner is out looking for their puppy - sniff )

Well, you don't know if they abused the animal or not, even if it was in bad shape, it could be because he was lost and got dirty, etc.  This dog is actually in great shape and obviously has been taken care of.

Probably it is lost, when the health and collar are considered.  Perhaps the family moved, and the dog tried to return to it's former 'home'.

Send mail to the address on the tag, if the family moved, the mail should forward to their new location.

Check with the local vets in the area.

It's posible that the family is on vacation or moving out of the area and the dog got away.  So no one is at the number listed.

About the only way to be sure is go to the address and check there and at the neighbors.

Energizer:

I'll see if I can figure out the new digital camera that my wife got for Christmas and post some pictures of the little [s]monsters[/s] darlings later tonight.

BTW, I live in the Dallas area.

There is a suspected theft ring operating in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. So far, the boxer thefts have been occurring mostly in the Eastern suburbs of Garland and Mesquite. There seems to be an alarming number of boxers gone missing -- too high to be a coincidence. If you live in these areas, be sure to keep your boxers indoors unless you are there to personally supervise them.
