In most cases would it be cheaper to purchase logs from a local saw mill and the remaining components from Lowes or Home Depot, as opposed to buying a kit from a dedicated log home manufacturer?

The summer after I graduated high school I worked at Honest Abe log homes. We cut a lot of poplar logs for the kits.

I looked into log cabins years ago.



High maintenance IMHO.
