Is here... It is everywhere and it is not what you think

The master: FSA

The slaves: the working class

We get the "pleasure" of working our entire lives so that all those people can sit on their ass and get free health care, free money, free food. Free housing. Our children will be born into slavery, and our children's children... Until this country is gone completely.

The second scariest part of this? It took a civil war to end the first period of slavery

The scariest part of this? Not enough people in this country have the will to make government change out of fear for a second one.....

We are truly doomed.....

I wouldn't worry too much. This arrangement cannot continue in perpetuity. There is no way the government can continue to fund it.

"Slavery" is already here: TOO MUCH DEBT.

People are voluntarily in-debting themselves to the banks & financial institutions.

Store cards, Credit cards, car loans, student loans and home loans.  DEBTER NATION.

But my investments are paying off because of dummies & debt though!

I think the FSA are slaves. Democrats have made welfare easy to attain, and good schools hard to find. They keep their voters poorly educated and hooked on welfare so their too poor to move out of their districts and scared some republican will stop their welfare. The FSA doesn't bring in the cotton crop, they bring in the votes.

eta: To those of you not living in CA, let me clue you in to the scheme. They are funding the entitlements, and state pensions here by selling off CA property to foreign cash buyers. This isn't on a small scale either. RICH PEOPLE FROM whereever, move here!!!!!

eta again, and to those of you that want CA to drop into the ocean, well that's not going to happen. This state, and probably NY too, are UN states now. Full of voting people from all corners of the world. What happens here spreads to other states...

To win an election, we need the support of the Chinese population, the Japanese and Korean populations, the Mexican, and all other South American populations, Islam, Israel, Southeast Asia, and NOW, some area's of Africa and the Balkin states.

Most newcomers only watch TV to make a decision on voting.  Obama seems "cool" to these people.

Wow. Links to articles? I'd like to learn more about that.

As usual, the problem is always "Where do we get the money?" and never "How can I quit spending so much?"

I wish I were a government.

Same thing all socialist style economies have to do. Greece is doing the same with its beaches, and islands also. It always ends like this.

It's already happening...at least in the engineering field. Granted, part of it is due to fewer people being interested in the field, but a lot of the younger generation of engineers has seen that light. Many of us are openly refusing to take on the responsibility that has, traditionally, been required of engineers in the past. I think in the coming years, we'll see fewer and fewer PE's, let alone those that want to actually pursue engineering.

Slavery without labor isn't slavery.

I don't know. What we have now is a political class whose members benefit greatly by fostering certain attitudes among people so that those people continue returning them to their political office. Being in office has tons of perks, starting with a fantastic salary for a part-time worker, a golden benefits package, great retirement even for being on the job only two years, getting invited to all the right parties, etc.

The FSA isn't doing physical labor for the political plantation owners, but the sure are doing a good job of making sure Massuh gets to lead the good life.

We fund it, which is why it's a type of slavery. I know you mean taxpayer, just annoys me when I hear/read people saying government is paying for something. The taxpayers are paying for everything, we should be sure to call it what it is. "Government paid healthcare", nope, taxpayer paid healthcare.

They've also come to accept the notion that their lives will be nothing without him, their master. They're like cattle in a feed lot (section 8). What's on the other side of those mountains? Meh, doesn't matter, they keep me safe and fed here. In fact, that poster on the barn over there (media) says the open pasture (free market) on the other side of that ridge is full of wolves and mountain lions anyway. Better to stay here, at least I'm safe.

Their fucking minds are in cages. Is there a deeper or more hopeless form of slavery??

I have been saying this for a long time.

They taxed the family to the point that in order to have the nicer things the wife unit had to go to work leaving the kids to be basically raised by state.

Then they taxed that some more.

People sitting on their ass get almost as much as a one income family and they stay single and have a lot of babies and both parents claim all the kids and they make more.  If they do happen to work they get Earned income Tax credit which basically give them as much as 8k more than they paid in and they get that back too.

Spend our money for food and use the tax free cash money they make on odd jobs to pay for their drugs and beer.

Lets say you you work till your 65 and have a stroke.  You will get social security sure enough but you savings that you worked hard for will make up the difference till you run out leaving your family without.

FSA guy takes a little too much crack at 25 and has a stroke he is in the bed next to you at the nursing home.  He gets SSI and never worked a day in his life.  But wait he did not save for a rainy day but Uncle Sugar pays for his with medicade and his wife and kids continue to get their gravy train.

When you pay over 50 % of your pay in Taxes you are a slave and at very least a share cropper working for the company store.

Pure and simple redistribution of wealth.

I am not against charity.  It is not the responsibility of the state.

Let's not forget that when women enter the workforce it devalues labor, because you have essentially doubled the labor supply.

The "working class" and the "FSA" are simply two sides of the same coin. That is, the construction worker is one job accident away from being forced to go on disability, and thus becoming a member of the "FSA."  (Same for the coal miner with black lung disease, or the wounded army veteran.) This is through no fault of his own, except perhaps that he didn't make enough money to be able to set a lot aside and become independent of the welfare system. Somehow, society needs to spread the risk of hazardous occupations.

I worked for 30 years and then retired on a generous pension. Does that mean I'm a member of the "FSA"? No, I think that I'm reaping the rewards of my work. I made less money while working, so I could have a generous retirement.

Whoever is stirring up this "politics of resentment" is not helping the country. We all need to pull together and help one another.

And when you let millions of immigrants  come here and work for damn near free  it also cuts the wage again.
There is not a day goes by that I dont hear someone ask why are there no "GOOD" electricians, plumbers, brick layers, Etc.  Well people do not go into the trades competeing against people working for free.  Trade jobs are the jobs of last resort for most of the kids who are bright enough to know why they do what they do and care.

What is really sad is there are churches that teach that government was founded by God to take care of the widows and orphans.

The "freeloader problem" is way overstated. The classic "welfare queens" are mostly a thing of the past.

What is being said is that there are "deserving poor" and "undeserving poor." What is not being said is that there's a thin line between these two groups, and a lot of crossover between them.

And let's not forget the racist aspect. The unstated assumption is that the "FSA" is made up mostly of minorities. But the illegal immigrants are some of the hardest working people in America.

Poor whites in Appalachia have some of the highest rates of being on disability, yet nobody seems to say much about them.

The "politics of resentment" (of immigrants, people on welfare, the disabled, etc.) is toxic for America. Carried to its logical conclusion, the result would be something like Nazi Germany, where the "undeserving" were led away to the death camps.
