Thanks. I always forget to do that. |

"Eh! Go away Hoser!"
Always works on Canadian Bears. That Bear was Yogi, he had been hand-fed before and he was looking for some FSA stuff, eh? This is why you don't feed the fucking wildlife! |

Sometimes you hunt the bear, and sometimes the bear hunts you.

Really dumb move on their part to run at the end after the bear turns away and they get some ground between them.

Kitteh just wants to be petted.

If that had been me I probably would've tried to pet the bear cause she was cute. Then I'd be on Livelink.

predatory Black Bear behavior. that bear sooner or later will probably decide to try and eat a human. no fear of humans. bears got to eat, same as worms.

Looked like the bear was out looking for someone to run PT with. I think he was wanting them to pick up the pace.

According to the bear attack books I have read, if those guys had played dead, statistically speaking, they would have become dinner for the bear. That bear was looking for trouble. There is no way I would hike in the woods without a firearm of some kind. In Canada, I would at least have an 870 with slugs and buck on my back while hiking or fishing. Liberal idiots. |

That bear was just wanting to play.
Black bears aren't really violent. They'd rather be eating berries. |

Spooky video. |

Should have just kicked the old guy in the groin and ran for it.

Bears are silly. He was being friendly and they were going to hit it with a rock.

Lonely kitty cat just wanted its belly rubbed.
If you watch you can see how readily that bear was about to take to a tree. They do that when they're scared. I've seen black bears scurry up a tree. That works fine for me. Leave me alone. |

There was 2 of them?
Should of started yelling and running at it, it would of decide to haul ass the other way. Its a black bear, there wussies. |

The last time a bear was that close to me I heard 5 rapid-fire shots from my .357 mag. "Stay back! That's as far as you go!" just doesn't seem to be effective human to bear communication. Things that go BOOM get past that language barrier.

cool video. No humans were hurt, no bears were hurt, just some new drawers needed.

Let's pretend we're on a running website rather than a gun website. What does the hive think about carrying bear grade pepper spray while running? I'll bet the two dudes in that video would've given almost anything to have some. http://www.bear.org/website/images/stories/images/HWB_800x600/HWB_Slide24_FS_800.jpg View Quote I carry bear spray on every hike. Cheap insurance, and often better under stress for the vast majority of people than a firearm. |

looked like unsure/hesitant predatory behavior of a young black bear towards a possible new prey source. looks kind of like play, but is really testing things out, both in the possible prey & in terms of its own capabilities/courage. that's why the bear was also nervous & exhibited some tree climbing. probably has lost most of its fear of humans due to prior handouts/food assocations w/ humans, as that looked like a park area.
reminded me of that one coyote video posted to Youtube by a Canadian guy. looked a bit like playing, only w/ a more serious edge that becomes more apparent near the video's end. bear needed a big dose of pepper spray, to develop some negative association w/ humans. probably needs to be moved to a more remote area, so it doesn't hurt someone. Coyote "play" video please embed, if team; good video |

These fuckers are jogging in bear country, in the woods, and not carrying bear mace or a piece?
