I have a new box, xp Home (I know, I know)

Anyway, I tried to use an older printer with it (HP 682c).  Printer found, driver installed.  However, whenever the wife tries to print out of wordperfect, it prints several pages of characters.  After this, it won't print in any program, including notepad.

To fix it, I usually have to delete the printer, unplug from the back of the computer, reboot, make sure the driver is gone, bring it down completely, plug the printer back in, bring it up and reinstall the printer driver.  It will then print in any program.  It will even print in WP for a few pages before it goes BO again.

Am I correct in assuming that I have a bad copy of WP?

TIA.....SRM

That's what I thought.  I tried the drivers that came with the printer, the verified drivers from XP and drivers from HP with the same results.

Neat Pic by the way, can't disagree.
