End of WWII. We were the only nuclear armed nation. We still had a huge military, the country was still caught up with patriotic fervor.
I read somewhere that we were the only country to come out of WWII stronger than when we entered. |

Probably during the Apollo program. That was probably the pinacle of our progress and greatness. The sad thing is that America had doomed herself decades earlier through the giant power grabs of government at the turn of the twentieth century with creation of the Federal Reserve and the income tax and then again with FDR's socialism. America did enjoy a few years of greatness after that until the welfare state had gotten a firm grip and established herself. Once that happened, we were transformed from a nation of greatness to one of mediocrity.

Depends on what you mean by greatness? I mean things like personal computers, skinny jeans, the ponies and the AR15 have only been mainstream a short while and they are a few of our greatest inventions of all time as a Nation.

Prob mid point of WW2. We geared up industry to just out-manufacture the rest of the fucking world on a scale never seen before or since. And when our boys came back hungry, they just kept on moving forward with all the youth and vitality the Old World lost a millennia before.
We still have it but it's buried beneath layers of filthy greasy hippy bullshit and touchy-feely libtard faggotry. |

I'll say about 1740. US? Maybe 1825. Easiest times? 1980s - 2000 even though the AWB was suckage in 94. Although 50-68 was a pretty awesome time, so I hear. |
