WELL, Just heard on the radio that they are making a movie based on the show.

Cool huh??

Heard that Samuel Jackson is going to be in it...YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

... and what would a Samuel Jackson movie be without him saying "MUTHAFUCKA" at least once??

They play the reruns on the tv land cable network sometimes.  It is a good show to watch.  I don't know if the movie will be any good, but the tv show wasn't half bad.

I enjoyed it as a kid, but having watched it recently as an adult, I was appalled by some of the more blatantly illegal acts committed by the SWAT guys, especially the big thug leader of the gang.  They were the prototype for today's JBTs.  Slippery slope, indeed.

Entertaining, but definitely needs to slip into the dustbin of history and forgotten about rather than be poorly rehashed like all the other trash tv from the 1970s (Charlie's Angels comes to mind).  America does not need another cop show, doctor show, or movie about either.

Here's a copy of the catchy tune.  I agree, it's pure disco but brings back good memories.

It's 4.4Mb.  Please download, don't stream, since it's my home server on ADSL.  Thanks!

Bow-chicka-bow music RULES!

Wish I could remember more about the show other than the theme.  I was probably only 5 when that came out...

My brother and I were 5 and 6 years old when that show was on.  We lived in the S 16th/Greenfield area of Milwaukee, south side, more or less inner city type neighborhood with house packed cheek by jowl, dirty alleys, etc.  I remember walking to the Ben Franklin store and my uncle buying us a pair of those cool plastic M-16 toys with the inertial raaaaap trigger.  We ran all over the block with those things.

Try that nowadays!

Airwolf, I am gonna download that later this morning on my 26.4 dialup!...THANKS!

TV Show
S.W.A.T. Cast Members:

Steve Forrest .........  Lieutenant Dan "Hondo" Harrelson
Rod Perry .............  Sergeant David "Deacon" Kay
Robert Urich ..........  Officer Jim Street
James Coleman .........  Officer T.J. McCabe
Mark Shera ............  Officer Dominic Luca
Michael Harland .......  Matt Harrelson
Ellen Weston ..........  Betty Harrelson
David Adams ...........  Kevin Harrelson

S.W.A.T.’s combination of cool cops and brutal action made it a popular choice when it hit the airwaves in 1975. The show even produced a radio hit when its orchestral-funk theme song, performed by Rhythm Heritage, became a Top-10 smash on pop radio. Everyone loved the show… except the critics. Media pundits regularly attacked the show for its high level of violence, the “shoot first, ask questions later” mentality of the heroes, and the fact that its heroes often dealt out more violence than the foes they were dealing with. The controversial but popular show enjoyed a two-season run before quietly disappearing from the television schedule in the summer of 1976.

Sukebe,
That would be the "Damn, am I getting old" award.

You can get another one if you know what show "The Rookies" debut(sp) on?

I loved that damn show, and I loved Emergency too.  SWAT was the first TV show that I actually heard some say "ass" on the air.  I freaked!

That was a great show, I was like 10 when it came out. Me and my friends would go out and re-enact every single show. I lived in L.A. at the time and it was the rage there.

Man, I'm getting old. Good thing I dont feel old.

Ah, yes, those were the days when SWAT teams were called out for hostage takers, snipers and barricaded armed felons...not paintball players and warrant service on white-collar criminals.

In the early 70's, it was not uncommon to fish Vietnam combat gear out of dumpsters. Combine that with S.W.A.T and the love for the black rifle was born. I have wanted one ever since 1973 or so,

In the mid-70's there used to be an new SP1 sitting in a case at Scheels Sporting Goods (St Cloud,MN). I think my drool stained the floor in front of the case!

rik, i remember the episode in which hondo was wounded by a paintball'r and the team chased those kids right off the field! it was awesome!

"swat" rivaled the "a team" and "chips" for moronic plot lines and bad acting.

AIMLESS:
Yep, it was Adam-12.  And if my memory serves me, the boys from Adam-12 did a cameo on Emergency once.

Now I know i'm getting old....

I still love the SP1's from that show. TJ was my favorite, when he would whip that hat around and put the scope to his eye.

The TOP 10 Things We Want To Hear Samuel L. Jackson, "Jedi Master Mace
Windu," say in the Star Wars Prequel

Note: In case you didn't know, Samuel L. Jackson will be in the first
prequel as the above character.

10. You don't need to see my goddamn identification, 'cause these ain't the
motherfuckin' droids you're looking for.

9. Womp rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'll never know, 'cause even if
it did I wouldn't eat the filthy motherfucker.

8. This is your father's lightsaber. When you absolutely, positively, have
to kill every motherfuckin' stormtrooper in the room... accept no
substitutes.

7. If Obi-wan ain't home then I don't know what the fuck we're gonna do. I
ain't got no other connections on Tattooine.

6. Feel the Force, motherfucker.

5. What ain't no planet I've ever heard of! Do they speak Bocce or What?

4. You sendin' the Fett? Shit, Hutt, that's all you had to say!

3. Yeah Chewie Rocky Horror's got a hair problem. What the brother gonna do?
He's a wookie.

2. Does Jabba the Hutt look like a bitch?

and the number one thing we want Samuel Jackson to say in the next "Star
Wars" film:

1. Hand me my lightsaber... it's the one that says, "Bad Mother Fucker."

Why did they always yell "HUT HUT HUT HUT HUT HUT HUT HUT HUT HUT" when they jogged as a group in the show? I always thought that was sort of stupid.

One time we were playing SWAT in the neighborhood and I had to beat up a kid for imitating the "HUT HUT" shit.
