You ended up somewhere to the far right of Ghengis Khan, right?  [;)]

You could *barely* make out Strom Thurmond way off in the distance to your left...

Ahhh yes, high school civics.  I remember a couple friends and I were so far to the right (the label was "reactionary")...and people already thought we were nuts because we insisted we had plans for world domination.  As a few years have passed I no longer seek world domination--I just want to be left alone.  Although I have moved further to the right, especially after seeing all the idiot socialists on campus.

ok I saw your post and wanted to know what I was classified as.  My ideas on things do not follow a defined path (jump from left to right).  I found http://www.politicalcompass.org/ and took there test to see where I fell:

Economic Left/Right: -2.50
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -2.26

Which I think puts me right about in the middle.

Interesting.

World's smallest political quiz (only 10 questions).  I've found it to be quite accurate:

I was that guy, too.  Except my feminist/leftist teacher (who was great, even though I didn't like her politics or that she focused on social history and ignored military events) called me and another guy the "arch-conservatives".

But I took government and history classes from her 3 out of 4 years in high school.  Her classes were taught like college courses, and plenty of free discussion and argument was done in a civil manner.  But most of the students were apathetic and didn't care.

Yeah, I was the only one of 100 in my college ethics class to argue that the government should not pay for a 70 year old's heart operation.  I came across as an SS guard in that one.

:)  Nothing like having your Bolshevik English lecturer yell at you for 5 min on Monday mornings for the papers you turn in on Fridays!

In my College Ethics course the Professor thought he would throw us a softball by asking "If you could save the life of a third world Child by giving 15 cents... would you".

Not only did I emphatically answer no, within a scant few minutes I had the whole crass agree with me that not only was it the ethically proper thing to do NOT to pay the 15 cents, but that the child and his whole family should be killed.

Ahhh... I liked that class.

I remember this crap in high school govt. class where they labled anyone who wanted smaller govt. "reactionary" and those who advocated larger govt. "progressive".  No Orwellian double speak there. [rolleyes]

BTW, I was very "reactionary".

I found some of the questions had double meaning, but I awnsered them as best I could. In the purest of meaning.

This is somewhat scary

Must be the anti "ChinaMart" protectionist 'US industry/workers first' attitude.  I certainly don't think of myself as left in any way.  Maybe it's my love for Commie iron (SKS's,Mosin Nagants, Nagant revolvers, CZ52s,.......Tokarevs, Ak's, PPSh41's......)  The PoliticalCompass test has me at 1.5 on the left/right economic & -1.69 on the authoritarian/libertarian scale.
