Say.....Jeb Bush vs Hilary

Jeb is a papist.

Would you vote for him?

If not, why?

There's a million reasons why I'd rather not vote for Jeb Bush.

Hillary is a good motivation to do so, but I'd still rather not.

It depends on his values. If he thinks the rest of us should adhere to the laws of his religion, then no.

No.

Because he is a liar.  Papist is a non-issue to me.

Jeb is an example

Substitute any catholic republican as an archetype and answer based on that

If it comes down to Jeb vs. The Hildabeast, I'll vote for Jeb.

But I certainly don't want to come to that.

I don't care about the religion part, but I have a hard time getting behind Jeb Bush for President.

If it's him or Hilary, though...  no contest.

I don't care what religion a candidate is, as long as they are not running on a religious agenda.  Anyone who is serious about limited government would get my vote, but it will probably be between two choices (again):

1.  Spend more and expand the scope of the federal government
2.  Decrease the rate at which we spend more, and slowly expand the scope of the federal government

Yeah. That's what Catholicism is all about. That's what happened with Kennedy too.

Every "conservative" member of the Supreme Court is Catholic. Roberts, Thomas, Alito, Scalia, and Kennedy.

So why not?

I am one.   Confirmed and unmolested.

I'm asking because I am curious how others would view such a situation.

I can't claim ambivalence to religion, and think that most who do are lying or not considering just how fucked up some religions are.

Catholicism is pretty moderate compared to some and would not influence my vote one way or another.

A Scientologist or Islamic for example are on the fuck no list.

I really don't see how people could base their vote on religion alone.  If they are a shitbird, I don't care what religion they are, they will not get my vote.  So yes, I would vote for a Catholic as long as they aren't a shitbird.

Why would I give a shit about his religion?

I'd vote for a Catholic, Satanist, Atheist, Mormon, Baptist, Muslim, Hindu... whatever.   So long as I thought he was in favor of smaller government and free enterprise.
