After I had the gun in my hand but I would bring my son into my wife and my room and let the on duty people clear the house. It sucks with only one or two people.

and tell them that there was a dead man in my living room...then when they asked me where all the bullet holes came from I'd explain how I treid to get him to surrender but he just wouldn't! That would give me enough time to take some pictures to post here!

I'm not sure I'd even call the police, depending on the situation; if I thought I made it clear what would happen if he/they returns I think that would be a more effective deterrant than a police arrest. If he was wounded, probably. Dead? Definitely (if only to get the corpse out of my house).
Somebody would have to be pretty stupid to break into my or anybody else's house these days while they are home (unless you live in Chicago, that is). My greatest fear is and always will be that I will be burglarized when I'm not home - my house I live in was broken into during the late '70s when the previous owners were at work. In broad daylight, no less. |
