What do yall think?

Zepelin, without a doubt. And Tool is better than any of the choices on the poll-except Pink Floyd.
Edited because I missed Floyd on the poll, and te ARE better than Tool. Holy crap, I spelled my name wrong. |
Van Halen Rocks pretty hard. Isnt Fleetwood Mac like Jazz or something.
Pink Floyd, then Led Zepplin!
Let's get our priorities straight here! Eric The(ComfortablyNumbSince1972!)Hun[>]:)] |

AC/DC (with a second vote for Led Zeppelin and third for Aerosmith). With the exception of the Stones, the other two listed are easy-listening by comparison.
AC/DC rocks, but Iron Maiden is the greatest band ever. Followed by:
Metallica Megadeth Pantera Slayer..... Heavy Metal, the only way to rock...... |
[blue]Led Zeppelin - Nolo Contendre!!![/blue]
Rage Against the Machine is my favorite band, but they were not proliffic to earn "best of all time".
Choices should be:
1. Led Zepplin 2. The Beatles 3. Jimmy Hendrix |
Led Zepplin didn't even get honorable mention.
You're and idiot. |
Quoted: The Rolling Stones for longevity alone. View Quote I'll give them ugliest band of all time. |

You wanna rock?... You wanna ROCK??... YOU WANNA ROCK??!!!
or... Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. Like the signs said, "Clapton Is God". |
I'd have to go with Led Zeppelin......but many other bands as well in the Heavy Metal/Hard Rock genre......
People actually LISTEN to Fleetwood Mac? Aren't they like the Village People? |
FLEETWOOD MAC SUCKS!
1. Led Zeppelin 2. The Beatles 3. Eagles FLEETWOOD MAC? What were you thinking? |
I haven't read the other replies yet, although I will directly.
Off the top of my head, I have to say either Ozzy or Skidrow. Skidrow is really my personal favorite band, not who I think of as the all time best. I think that Ozzy has been more consistent supplying us with great rock n roll than any other band. |
Arock, when I saw the first line of your post, I thought you were going to say Twisted Sister.

Didn't Fleetwood Mac play for the Clinton's when dipsh*t got elected the first time?

My god! There are so many great rock bands out there that it is hard to single one out.
From yesterday's Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, to Rush, to Metallica, to today's rock bands like Tool and Staind and so on. BUT I would have to give an award to AC/DC for being a popular rock band that kept their sound and not have over-commercialized themselves. How about a poll on bands that should just give it up because they are way too old and think they have to charge top price for their concert tickets because of their popularity? (cough, cough..Rolling Stones...cough, cough) ArmaLiter |

I'm sorry, but I just have to say that The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones, blow.
In the 1770's, we kicked British ass. Two hundred years later they retaliated by sending us Mick Jager and John Lennon. OK. I'm ready. On your mark, get set, flame on... P.S.- The sixties have been over for 30+ YEARS!! |

Grateful Dead, or Jefferson Airplane, with Led Zeppelin as a runner-up.

Of your choices Pink Floyd would be my pick. I was into Prog-Rock or Art-Rock.
Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd and the like. |
NIRVANA!!
Plus the lead singer was very pro gun and love/owned a Colt AR15 |
YEAH, YEAH like old Genesis, back when Gabriel was the singer songwriter on paper squares and Collins was "just" the drummer.
"Return of the Giant Hogweed" "The Lamb lies down on Broadway" |
Hey Hannah, that pic of Gracie brought back floods of memories. Whew she was HOT! And who would have thought in an era of 4/4 rock, the second most played song would be a Flamenco (White Rabbit)?
No kidding Arock, and man, could she sing!
I saw her lose a mike at the Fillmore once, and you could still hear her above an amped band! We saw the best rock shows in the world back then, no doubt. |
Fillmore, the Avalon, Panhandle Park and the Cow Palace later and down south at the Whiskey-a'-Go-Go. Chet Helms and Family Dog Productions, Bill Graham, the Merry Pranksters, Owsley and La Honda. Quicksilver, Country Joe, of course The Airplane, Eric Burdon, man there's too many. Like HST wrote, our wave crested about that time and having crested, rolled back.
I saw Zeppelin play their first show ever in the US at the 1968 Denver Feyline Christmas show.
They were the little unknown warmup band for Vanilla Fudge and Spirit. They rocked the house down, but it was still 3 months before they released an album here. Had "Dazed and Confused" ringing in my head till April, lol. Also saw Hendrix play at Red Rocks, Janis Joplin at the Family Dog, and Zappa at the Denver Pop Festival in 1970. *sigh* (edited to add: Wow, you must be really old too [;)] ) |
Here's another quote from our time...
"The greatest compliment I was ever given came at The Fillmore. It was Cream and the Butterfield Blues Band. I just happened to go into the rest room during a break. I was standing at the middle urinal when two guys came in after me, one on either side...right out of the blue, one said, 'I forgot. Who's playing here tonight?' Without batting an eyelash, the other guy said, 'I don't know, man. What's the difference? It's The Fillmore". And yeah, I'm older than dirt. [:D] |

My vote goes for Led Zep, they had a sound that will never get old. The Stones would be my second choice. Now as far as live rock shows, I think Iggy Pop puts on one of the best shows, kick ass band always. My favorite was when I saw him at the Ritz in '86. The sickest show I ever saw was Iron Maiden, one week before the Iggy Pop concert in '86. That was at the Garden in NYC and the people in the bleachers were lighting and throwing M-80's into the crowd and some assclown threw one at the lead singer and it blew up in mid air right next to his ear. Then it got really sick after that!

Say Hannah... this bring back memories??...
