Patrol Squadron 24, USN, the world-famous "Batmen". We were a P-3C outfit based in Jacksonville, Florida. The squadron was decommissioned just a few years ago. One day, VP-24 will rise again!

I was in Infantry division 6 sub sector A under the 56th airborne, Navy diver/parachute sub catagory. Yeah.... Yeah thats the ticket.

You know though, Honestly, Now that I am older I kick myself in the ass for not joining when I had the chance. I could have used that kind of experience in my life.

My best friend is in the Marines and what a stand up guy he turned out to be. Heck, he's the one that converted me from Liberal to Conservative.

Be safe guys.

And what about us that trained along side of CAV? Are we still in the ain't shit catagory? Spent many a month in NTC with them, so I would have to say we were about equal!

Gotta love the pride!

If you spent time at Ft.Irwin, your OK in my book.

My LT once ORDERD me to drive up a "hill" so my track could overwatch "The Whale"(  IMO it wasent a hill, it was a HUGE friggin pile of boulders) .

Got about 1/2 way up then got a vacation for two days. Worst broke track/stuck anyone had ever seen a M-113. [}:(]

I was in a super secret special forces unit, which didnt oficially exist, so we didnt have a name for it. I trained at a supersecret marine sniper school, and served in vietnam for three straight tours. I cant say more than that.

Excuse me gents, I gotta get back to assaultweb.

I was stationed at Davidson Army Airfield Field  FT.Belvoir Va. DUSAA after going through aviation school at Ft Rucker Al.66-67

Then the 329th Maintenance Co. attached to 213th Assault Support Helicopter Co. RVN 67-68

After returning from Vietnam I was sent to Hunter Army Airfield Savanna Ga. a Huey  Maintenance Co. (Kain't remember it's name) until I got out in 68.
