To be honest with you I had NO INTENTIONS on seeing this movie. I really dont care for Julia Roberts, Matt Damon or Brad Pitt so I put a big ol "No Thank You" on this.

I think I was too quick to judge.

I was flipping through the channels the other day and on HBO was Ocean's Eleven. Not bad. Not bad at all. Although I did find a mistake in it the second time I saw it.

When The old guy is with the security manager watching the breifcase get put in the vault, they cut to the next scene where the security mangaer is hauling away Bernie Mac, then they go back to the camera room and the security manager is there again.

Also did anyone see the original version of the movie...how does that compare?

I did not see the original. I thought it was a good movie. See it again someday.

I got the original on DVD.  Excellent movie.  All the "Rat Pack" are in it and it's great to see all of them.

They used to air it all the time on AMC but now AMC for the most part has turned to shit!

I have not seen the new one but I don't think it will compare to the original.  Remakes usually don't IMO.

Is it Cid Caesar in the original?  He was a little over the top for my liking.

I also nixed the remake, and you know what -- I thought it was a GREAT FUCKING MOVIE.

Have seen it twice now on HBO.

I should have seen it in the theaters.

They are two different movies. Well, there are similarities, but overall different. I enjoyed both!

I do not like anyone in that movie, however, I found myself enjoying it...and hating myself for it.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but that was the movie about robbin the casino's right?

I'm sick of movies meant to portray the GOD DAMNED SCUM OF THE EARTH as the "good guys"

Or movies glorifying evil shit?  Like drugs, alcohol, casual sex, cheating on your ole lady...robbin places..."bein a "playa", "frat party" type shit, etc, etc???

How many of you share this opinion?

Am I the only one wishing that the asshole trying to break in somewhere or steal something would get caught/shot/killed and end the movie quicker....

Well, I do find it a little odd that they always do something to show how the criminal really isn't such a bad guy. I remember that for Ocean's Eleven, they decided that the casino owner was a Bad Guy for some reason that I don't remember, and that made it all right to steal his money. Of course, the real criminals are probably sociopaths who don't give a crap about anything except how much money/drugs/hoes they have.

Speaking of mistakes, did the attempted robberies scene get anyone else's attention? Like improper use of deadly force when the guards shot the guy running away with the money. Does casino security even carry guns?

I agree with Byte.  They are two completely different movies (with some similarities).  Personally, I loved them both.  The Rat Pack is great.  But to see the later O11 on the big screen with some of the new tech....it was great!  I plan to buy the DVD!

On that movie mistake site they caught what I was going to point out:  the "pinch" EMP device disrupted all the electronic devices in Vegas, except for the bad guy's equipment.

What I remember from school is that an EMP that could've knocked out Vegas would have fried most of the very large scale integrated circuits.  Cameras, radios, cell phones, RC controllers, computers would all be dead.  However, the good guys stuff worked despite being near the epicenter of it all.
